I have to admit I do admire Dolly's travelling, and that is why Claymore stepped in for us at Warrington and collected DD from the airport. I feel it is very important that people know I'm genuine and appreciate all the effort put in by everybody who attends a meet.
Now pass the Stella please.

Andy

can't make it this time as I'm off to a gig in Edinburgh that night ..,..
Not sure where you hold the event but a thought for future ....
Have you looked at Camden as an area to meet?
Just one of the comments about letting the ultaego out and not feeling able to do it in pub you've met at before ...
I often drink in the Devonshire Arms just off Camden high street 5 mins or less from the tube station .. DD probably knows it?
It's basically a goth pub and can get a bit busy at times of a Sat evening .... but its a chilled out place and a great whatever goes place the dress code is kinda goth, alt, pvc, punk, basicaly wear black and don't look like a chav and it's alright ...
There is always interesting outfits in there and I've been in there in ultaego mode with shortish pvc skirt and corset before ....
Like I say just a thought ....

I know the Devonshire quite well enough !!!
On one occasion I met a mate there after work he turned up in his office suit and felt very, very uncomfortable. I didn't think to warn him !
As to the location, Camden is good but I think the Meet Ups have been organised in central London because of ease to get to for everybody.
Whilst every Londoner knows how easy to get to and how close Camden is to the West End, it certainly in the early days before the Meet Up gathered it's current momentum, could well have discouraged some people. Distance and unfamiliarity et cetera.
Also in the West End we have discovered a lot of people dropping in for a pint because they were in the area after work.
Mind you, point taken, Camden does have a more eclectic mix of people. Something for everyone.
Anyway, time for work . . .

Who ate all the pies ? What a waste of pie !

Hi Trashcan, it sounds like a good venue for an anything goes kind of meet, i don't think it would suit the traditional London meet up.
I know alot of people who go to the currant London meet would be a little shocked with the change of style lol.

The London meet has always been in central London and it's very easy to commute to from all directions. Plus as easy_as said it attracts alot of people just popping in for a pint after work etc. The London meet has also developed it's own style so it would be a very radical change.
I still think this could be good to try but it would need to be organized as an alternative to this meet. Of course someone would also need to organize it and decide the style, dates, times etc. There is nothing wrong with an alternative. All we ask is if someone does want to try it out please stay in contact with easy_as and myself so we don't clash with dates etc.
Cheers

A Sat night is the best time for people watching / or getting to meet new people there ... I've sunk into many a pint of scrumpy jack in there with friemds or just wandered in alone after a shopping trip sometimes its average other nights especially if there is a gig on then the pvc, thigh boots, rubber, really trad ott victorian goth, cyber goth colours, corsets, big boots and stuff come out to play ....
If you like alt music, goth, metal or 80's there is always a DJ in on Sat and some nights of week, styles can vary, one night they just steamed through the 80s from 6.30 to 11 from the Mission to Duran to Gary Numan and everythign in between ... almost missed my last train home to Suffolk when I lived up there ...
We should be down for a London gig on 2nd Dec at Camden Underworld and intend to have a bevy or 3 at the pub beforehand .. tho must get to gig early to see 1st support aslead singer has a liking for little rubber dresses on stage!

As said could be a meet for the more "alternative minded lot on here .. I know from reading the posts here that there are those goth, rock and metaller types that might enjoy this as a venue .. not just to talk sploshing but to put the world to rights ....
I don't get to London as often as I used to and the last train to Sheffield is silly early! But if a more "alt" based meet was discussed, then I'd make sure I could get down on a Sat and arrange crash space somewhere ... have a clothes designing friend out at Epping that can usually be persueded to be kidnapped .....!
The venue itself would just need a couple of people there earlyish of an evening to grab table(s) either at back corner or the church pew style booth near the bar!
Hi again Trashcan thanks for your imput.
You seem very passionate about this and thats fantastic, i think maybe you should try and sort out an alternative meet and see how it goes.
Obviously there is a demand for a more crazy meet, and it's not an option for the currant London meet so if your happy to do a trial then go for it.
Then there will be something for everyone.
If you want to chat more drop me a line or add to a messenger.
