I am given to understand from nature programmes that chimps are far from being the lovable tea-drinking creatures that used to hold tea parties at the zoo in those un-PC days when animals were funny. They are seriously aggressive and you might find they throw more than pies (and I don't just mean their shit, which they are also prone to).

Following all the Chipperfield allegations, I think circus chimps have all but disappeared (Phillis will know!) and I doubt chimp sanctuaries like Molly Badhams go in forr that sort of thing. You may have to settle for me in a gorilla suit!

Chimp Sh*t

Postby matt2matt2002 » 30 Oct 2006, 11:51

Hayley is quite correct about the chimp behaviour.
I well remember taking my kids to the zoo. As we stood outside the chimp cage one big bugger was hanging by one arm directly infront of us.
He reached down with the other hand and after cr*pping in it began to....
Well, you can imagine the rest!

I like the aspect of humiliation by animals but chimps would only work in WAM-land.

MIchael Jackson had to get rid of BUbbles when he became like, teenager age. Apparently he got all angsty and moody and turned against Jacko, so he had to send him away somewhere

Weird stuff.

A big chimpy pie fight, in theory, if they werent mental in a bad way, would be fun.

yes in 10 years I've never worked on an animal show but know many who have (none of whom I belive would ever miss treat their animals)
but back to the point a very good friend of mine worked for many years with chimps in south Africa he always said they were one of the most dangerous animals you can come across, I've just finished reading Gerry Cottle's autobiography in whitch he describes them as having the temper of a toddler and the strength of several grown men!

he also talks about when the circus of horrors set the world record for the largest custard pie fight (sounds like mutch more fun)
