The Germans seem quite keen on these sort of shows. Back in the good old days of analogue satellite viewing, I used to watch stations like Sat 1, Vox and RTL. There was a show called Man-O-Man where most of the participants ended up in a swimming pool in the studio. I think they tried it on British TV but it wasn't as good as the German version and it didn't last.

The British version was bloody awful (hosted by Chris Tarrant) with mainly men winding up in the pool and the usual cut away once anyone fell in.
Even from a comedy POV I think you needd to see people wet and begraggled after

itlooks like the contestants were actully suprised when the opened the door, and fully clothed too, i think the Mam o man one they were shoeless boooo

Some of those German shows were great for messy stuff. Always remember one that featured a naked couple on a huge foam burger bun frollicking about as various kinds of relish and stuff was poured over them!
