Thank you for taking the time to write that excellent and thoughtful report, Candy. I thought of Bill yesterday, and, unusually for me, had some dust or something in my eye....

Funny, aint't it.

I was trimming evergreen bushes yesterday around 10:15 Chicago time... I never knew that evergreen stems cause tears.

That was a lovely read, Candy. Yes, people ought to know that Bill wasn't some mad perv but a clever, considerate, fun guy who was seriously well liked because he enhanced many lives. Going to miss him lots.

10,000 miles is a long way to travel to a funeral for someone I've never met, but its the first time since moving down under that I've actually thought about making the trip back to blighty - such was the influence of Bill on my life. In the end I didn't make it but thanks for your excellent description of the service Candy. I'm so pleased that Bill got the send off he deserved and that Bill warmth was made known to his parents.

Rest in peace Bill - you will be missed by a great many people

One of these days I'll get on a plane (or 3) and meet up with some of you lovely people in person.

Yes, thank you Candy, am so sad i coudnt go but with two babies to take care of and the short notice meant flights were just too expensive, im sure clive would have been more annoyed had i got it together to get over to see him when he's dead and not when he was still with us! I've been in absolute pieces and spoken to Bert and Molly too, Bert is so intelligent and both so witty you can see where Clive got it from! ...So sad I couldn't be there but on the morning of the funeral there was a monarch butterfly in my bedroom, we had spoken once or twice about them carrying souls so it was spooky... much love xxx
