Wet scenes in movies
Does anyone remember a Peter Sellers film called 'The Party' from about 1968? Its full of wet scenes and I reckon that everyone in the cast ends up in the water, wearing mostly formal gear, at various times during the action. I had forgotten about it until I found a huge pile of video tapes after a house move last year, and decided to look through them all while my ancient videotape machine still works! As a bonus for lovers of vintage motors there is a lovely 'Morgan' 3-wheeler as well.

Bottoms Up!

Isn't this the film that spawned the song "Goodness Gracious Me" ? Comedy and car trivia as well as being on topic - all in one thread!

(OT) The song was recorded much earlier (in 1960) and produced by George Martin, before he started signing Liverpudlian mop-tops.

Fair enough but he did play the same (now somewhat un-PC) Indian doctor in The Party as I recall.
I have a number of George Martin-produced Parlophone records from the very early 60s. Rolf Harris's "Someone Pinched Me Winkles" is a fine example!

Sellers played an accident prone indian actor who caused all the mayhem in the film. On a slightly different subject, amongst my pile of ancient videos were lots of people getting gunged by Noel Edmonds in his various gunge boxes. I wondered if any members of this forum were involved as most if not all of the 'victims' seemed to enjoy the experience. Come on; own up if you were one of them!

Those are some of my favourite TV gungings, Richard, (Particularly Saturday Roadshow), many of which I had on tape myself (now long lost). Many have surfaced on Youtube, but not many and very few from the first series (the original tank with the 'pull' chain now owned by 'Big Dave' at Gunjee Productions) when the numerous nicely dressed lady contestants didn't seem quite as well briefed about what was going to happen!
This one is one of the best that survives (series 2 - with button?), in that it's complete and has a fairly good picture. Enjoy!

And don't forget, 'My boomerang wont come back' by Mr C Drake Esq.
Didn't he also do one about 007....?
