This past Wednesday I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Shipton at the Splosh studio for a natter. We discussed many things, from the WAM scene to the epic legend of the Rhumba Royale, though we were at one point forced to move bar tables when a loud businesswoman who appeared to have stepped out of a Coen Brothers movie set up on the next table with a laptop and a mobile phone which she barked into incessantly. There was me thinking Bill made up all these mad characters we keep seeing as fictional creations when in fact it seems they just appear spontaneously around him wherever he goes, like the cartoon characters that pestered Bob Hoskins in "Who Framed Roger Rabbit". Who knew?
Here's a picture we took to commemorate the meeting, as you can see we were perfectly civilised and I was not shut in the stocks and covered in shaving foam or anything of the sort, as such behaviour would have been quite uncalled for.

Errr....if you didn't get messy how come the floor and the pillory are all covered in pie? Or perhaps I dreamed that bit!
Delighted to see my pisspoor camerawork inmortalised in your avatar. Hey that makes me a photographer!
Hope you are all having a good time in Leeds!
Bill
PS I like the Bob Hoskins allegory. Like him I was never sure whether the toons in my life existed or not.
PPS if anyone wants to see what REALLY happened to Miss Helen....I am sure she'll overcome her shyness.

Hi
Considering it was a totally spontaneous afternoon, fuelled entirely by tea, and using a camera I had never seen before (stills aren't really my thing) the pictures have worked out quite well. And it was a good laugh.
Fear not Andy, as I am sure Helen will tell you your job is safe!
However, let it be a warning to anyone who pops in to the studio in passing, nobody gets away without SOMETHING happening to them.
Bill
PS The order problem is down to Helen. I will alter the 'order of posting' software this week then everyone else will be confused as well!

Great pictures, and looks like great fun too! Love the pillory, that's a serious piece of kit.
Thanks to you both for posting them!
