Tescos' wasted food mountain

Postby mustbetights » 21 Oct 2013, 22:42

Just seen the news of the amount of food that Tesco throws away. 30,000 tonnes! Enough to keep us Sploshers going for a couple of days! Not sure about the out of date salad! Although I did look at the over ripened apples that have started to decay under my tree!

I saw that on the news too. Salad and bread products mainly it said....not exactly sploshing material. It actually got me thinking that there isn't much 'fresh' produce that sploshers tend to use. Eggs or over ripe tomatoes perhaps? It's mainly tinned, in cartons or bottles with long sell by dates for sploshers.

Very true! A lot of the gooey stuff we tend to use isn't that nice when its knocking on a bit! The only old foodstuffs I've used is stale bread, works really well when watered down to a gloop!
