I would have thought you should have asked me first before discussing my family in this Forum

The Addams Family was funnier, although the idea of a Jewish vampire was terrific. Carolyn Jones was gorgeous...
The "All New" colour versions were shite.

I've never really seen more than a few momentary clips of The Munsters, but Morticia Adams... mmmmmmmmm!!

I liked both.
Lurch always cracked me up the most when he played with his organ.
So I'll vote Addams Family too.
However, Mister Ed was the best.

It has to be The Munsters for me, simply because of Herman. Fred Gwynne is a comedy genius.
Look, if you're all going to throw pies around would you mind throwing them at me!!!

Uncle Fester RULES!
Okay, on a more serious note, I'm more pro Addams for a few reasons, but the biggest two have to be for characters and production; Addams characters seem to be a little more original and polished, and the humour -while darker- is much more subtle. Munster characters, on the other hand, seem to be spawned more from the Hollywood pop-culture of the time, and don't seem to project the classy, morbid dignity of the others. Don't get me wrong, the Munsters are entertaining, but you can tell one show is the copy of the other. To illustrate my point, look at the kids. I look at Wednesday Addams and think "man, that's psycho's gotta grow up to be Marilyn Manson's mom.", but then I look at the Munsters' wolf-boy and think "Huh. Kid in a wolf costume."
Oh yeah, and Grampa munster as a Jewish vampire is pretty funny.
Now who wants to nail Morticia in the haunted tar pits out back?
