Bristol Hippodrome also stars Joe Pasquale.

One of my ambitions in life is to be a pantomime dame though. hehe.

Oh good, a genuinely informative thread !

I like the idea of Peter Pan with Charlie Cairoli - especially if his missus is playing Tinkerbell! Together they all fly off to Never-Never-Have-To-Clean-Up-Land where nobody grows up and can have pie fights for ever!

Hmmm...that give me an idea.

I can just see a splosh version of Peter Pan. DD could be the principal boy, Gilly could be Wendy and Clown Julie could be Tinkerbell.

I don't know the story but I hope there'd be a spot for me in it.

Working on a similar idea myself, PieMe.

Meanwhile, Julie, ...does this mean that The Krankies are now officially retired?

If so, it's a sad day for panto!

Hehe Bill, great minds and all that eh?

Don't suppose you need a token male in the cast?

There is always a great slapstick scene in the Theatre Royal York panto. Usually it is Berwick Kaler (Dame) and Martin Barrass (Son) who hand it out to each other, but a couple of years ago at the climatic moment both said they had had enough of getting messed up and started looking around for another victim. Most of the cast made rapid exits so they grabbed the Principle Girl and flung her into a 3ft deep glass tank of water!

Well you know how tweely the heroines are always dressed in panto; so you can imagine the sight as she staggered back up!! This was certainly a first for me; I got quite envious!!

To answer my own question...

The Krankies are alive and going strong in Darlington this year. Their panto routines often feature slapstick. The Chuckle Bros in Hull sound promising too.

Shame about Clive Webb and Danny Adams going for plate smashing this year. They are brilliant. Hayley and I saw them in Hastings with their Circus Hilarious show. Best slosh routine I've ever seen. And Hayley has such a crush on Danny! mind you when Clive Webb was in panto in hastings several years back there was a fair amount of incidental slapstick - not to mention soaking the audience with water pistols! So get a seat near the front!

Best bet does sound like Bristol. Would love to come down if time and money allow.
