Substance Questions

Postby alext » 08 Nov 2006, 15:11

Greetings all!

Finally managed to get back online after a nightmare problem with my broadband, it's soooo nice to be back...

I'm planning a session in the next couple of months, possibly my largest so far, and there's a couple of substances I'm thinking of giving a try - I'm wondering if any of you guys here have tried them, and have any advice for them.

The first one, for those of you in the UK, is the Cake Mix, or Batter Mix, that Tesco sells. I don't know if it's any good, or how many packs would be needed to make a decent amount - has anyone here tried them?

The second is one I'm been tempted to try for a while - Wallpaper Paste. It looks as if the coverage and feeling of it would be pretty good, but has anyone here tried it? If so, does anyone have any advice or tips for it in general?

Thanks guys, looking forward to hearing back :D

Yep - I've used both and both come with a warning.

Cake Batter is, generally, a mixture of flour and liquid - one of the best glues known to man or beast with an uncanny knack of balling up (if you pardon the expression around hairs which can be quite difficult to untangle, cut or shave out if they set).

Wallpaper paste appears to be a better option, especially if you use the cold water starch variety. There is still a chance of the paste balling around hairs but I've never found this to be the case. I have regularly used Wilkinsons All Purpose wallpaper paste - it warns that it contains a fungicide which is generally advised against but I've never found it to be a problem.

Hope this helps

not used cake mix but one way of getting a fantastic cheap and easy cake mix that can be as thick and heavy or as squishy as you like is custard and swiss rolls mixed together

currently sainsbury have been selling their 1kg custard for 74 pence !!! same as what tescos were, i've been buying 10 most weeks i have been shopping, i now have 54 x 1kg of custard :D :D :D
also for the mix the cheap large chocolate swiss rolls in tescos are perfect

as for the question you posed, wallpaper paste tastes icky and anything with flour in for me is a no no, not ony does it lump in your hiar it lumps in your drain
unless you flush it down the bog
good luck

YAY!!! Wilkinsons wallpaper paste is what myself and Mercedes use, if you buy the extra stength packets (heavy duty) the single packs will mix up about 6/7 litres of a nice thickish gunge then just add whatever Poster paint colour you want.
We have never had any adverse reaction to it neither have several other people i know who use it as well.

Cede has some pics on another thread here dressed in a evening dress and we were using it then.

As for the Cake mix or even flour as i have previously said and also Chantelle did also post on this matter if you do use this substance and you get lumps in your hair Ordinary Peanut Butter rubbed into your hair, left for about 15 mins then shampood out will get rid of them, sounds daft but believe me as myself and Chantelle will testify it does work.

Hi Dids try getting some Natrasol, thats pretty cool and has none of the toxins of wallpaper paste.

www.gungetheboss.co.uk.

Its good gear we use it regular.

The wallpaper paste is exactly as said...great stuff but it does contain fungicide so don't eat large quantities of it!

We use cake mix all the time BUT we use the catering version that makes up with water and comes in big sacks from Cash & Carry. It's a sponge mix and comes in plain, ginger (very good for simulating poo - not that we would ever do that!) and chocolate. You need to mix it very well until smooth and then you can dye it how you like. It has presented no problems to Gilly or her victims at all (and she now has crinkly hair!). Whether this is different from the Tesco version I don't know. We like it cos it is heavy and looks messier than Natrasol and is about the same price per bucketful.

Excellent, thanks for all the replies and help on this one, guys :D

I think I'm probably going to avoid the cake mix, but I might well give the wallpaper paste a try - I've no plans to eat it though!

Also, nice to see you back Bill :)

 This fungicide in the wallpaper paste; I wonder if it would help with my athletes foot problem? :? :) And perhaps with the 'dhobi itch' (not that I have that of course!)

What about using real custard pies they are made from eggs and milk mixed together then baked in a pastry crust. They are very messy.
