Website problems sorted (we hope!)

Postby BillShipton » 22 Jul 2012, 13:12

Yes, we know that over the last few weeks you have been having problems getting onto the Splosh! site, into the shop and the forum (so bad in fact even I dreaded trying to get onto the site!). The problems were with our server and a software one - not caused by lack of capacity or band width. After a certain about of persuasion, the servers have looked into it, reloaded their software and the whole site is running normally again! Let's all hope it stays that way.

We apologise for it's appalling sluggishness over the last few weeks and hope that it is back up to speed. It seems to be right now.

You and just about everyone else. I just hope people haven't deserted us for good. Otherwise the servers will be getting "desserted" themselves - brrr tish!

Bill. I haven't seen it mentioned on here since this but I assume you do actually know that the same 'Too Many connections' SQL error has been back with a vengeance over the last week or so? It's also been chronically slow again when it does actually serve up a page correctly.

Just thought I'd mention it in case you had been lucky and not encountered it again yourself.

Thanks Bill, have had that ~"too many connections" message a number of times recently, and once yesterday when I hit submit to reply to Deviant's post. This morning I got the same message when trying to come to Splosh! for the first time today, when I was able to log in, it showed 5 people using the site, so not too many really....
