I am sorry if this is a repost but I have had a look and can't find my last entry so I am posting again. I was out walking in the East Midlands recently and found a good spot for mud. If you drive to 52°47'26.77"N 0°46'51.30"W (copy and paste into Google Earth) you will find a biway suitable for cars. There is a gate but that is no problem as it is a legal road (in fact in better condition than most roads!). If you drive down there past the woods you will see a four wheel drive course running alongside the road. This was muddy in the dry and should be great after the recent rain. There are a number of places along there that you can get your car off the road and right alongside the mud so good for cleaning up. I shall be walking along there tomorrow (Friday) between 11am and noon so if anyone is there I shall say hello. Obviously I am not planning on getting muddy however.....

Okay, well I did walk there today and, as I suspected, there was an awful lot of mud around. Unfortunately no fellow messers. For anyone who does venture down the path there is an ideal spot at 52°47'52.46"N 0°45'46.32"W where a footpath branches off. A perfect excuse to aprk the car and right opposite the footpath is a deep muddy section right behind a bush. I would reckon you would be hidden from view even if someone walked past.
If anyone does decide to journey there please let me know and I will try to be there to help.

I would be happy to post pictures of this location if you like. I wondered if people might want to see other places I have found in the East Midlands so here is a picture list.
Again I am always happy to meet people at these locations and help with cleaning up or pictures. If you want to see the locations on a map then just copy and paste the locations into Google maps or Google Earth.

This is accessible from both directions. Quite safe as the water isn't normally too deep. There is a danger of the odd dog walker coming past but they didn't seem interested in me when I was there.




This is quite close to the road but well hidden. However be careful after rain as it can be quite deep. This picture was taken when it was fairly dry and I didn't expect to get more than my ankles wet.

This is very well hidden from most people but getting back to the car can be akward on busy days.

This is a great place to get muddy. The parking is elevated and there is only one way in so you can see and hear any car coming long before it gets there. Mud is awesome.

This area has lots of deep mud churned up by cattle so if you don't like that kind of mud keep clear. Not too many people around although I was caught dressed as a female here. However they treated it as a normal occurence!

This is easy to get to and again you can see a long way so being surprised isn't likely. Mud in most directions but right next to the car.

Here you can back your car into the lane and then it is extremely unlikely you will be disturbed. Seems to be mud most of the year. I haven't walked down as far as the pond yet.
