Vintage mud wrestling matches (pic with partial male nudity)

Hi everyone. I discovered a book in the school library when I was about 13 entitled 'The Pictorial History of Wrestling' which had a couple of pictures of mud fights held in the 1930's and 1950's. I was struck by the eroticism of these pictures, especially the two wrestlers rolling around in what looks like thick sticky clay:

Apparently, this match was held in 1938 in Clapham. I haven't got the second picture which depicts two female wrestlers in Germany in a peaty mud fight. I think it relates to something like this match:

In both instances, the wrestlers are wearing rubber swim caps to protect their hair, which is a bonus for me as I have a rubber fetish:). I wondered if anyone here had any more information, pics etc on the mucky wrestling matches of yesteryear?. Would love to see/participate in a recreation of one of these matches in a bikini, swim cap :D

I've also been intrigued for years by a very, very brief clip of two male mud wrestlers that featured in the opening credits of series 1 of Not The 9 O'Clock News. One guy holds another over his shoulders and gets mud rubbed onto his bum:

I wonder if Bill in all his years on the WAM scene could shed any light on it?

I can still remember a mud wrestling news item on our local tv many years ago, which was one of my first splosh experiences. It was in a boxing style ring with sticky brown clay type mud - not very deep. There was a bloke in shorts and tee shirt and his female partner in a tight swimsuit. It was outdoor and looked cold as the spectators were wrapped up well. I remember the bloke tipping the girl onto her bum and the spectators all laughing and cheering. Fantasised about that for years afterwards
