From time to time members ask "Does anyone remmber such and such; and does anyone have a copy?"; and after years of searching online and in second hand magazine shops (before they all seem to have closed), I thought I would ask the Forum.
When I were a lad, or at least younger than I am now, around 1974 (so it could have been 73 or 75), I remember a photospread in probably Club, but possibly King or Mayfair magazine, that was definitely unusual for the magazines of the day, and which I found very erotic.
It was of a probably blonde young woman being progressively covered in raw eggs.
I think the first one was just the yolk in her tummy button, and more and more eggs were added by an unseen helper until she was covered, including her hair and face.
The only prop that I can remember in the photos was a glass coffee table that sometimes she was underneath (with eggs on the glass) and at other times on top of the table.
So, to my question: "Does anyone remember a set in Club etc around 1974 of an attractive young woman being covered in eggs, and more importantly, does anyone have a copy?".
Another "Does anyone remember"?

Sounds like a job for Bill ! Maybe he was the "unseen helper" as he was I beleive involved in a few British mens mags eg Razzle etc
I actually remember a very erotic story from one of these from about 1970 and the memorable line was " a gobbet of custard slid down the cleavage of her dress"

It is unlikely to be King or Mayfair (the latter incorporated the former in later years) as their sets were rather more conventional glamour. Razzle didn't start until the mid 1980s when it was a weekly (briefly) smutty comic for 50p, so anything as posh as a coffee table would be very unlikely! Club, Escort or Men Only are possibles, as our my old friends at Fiesta.
I am sorry I can't be more precise than that because, I'm shocked to say, I'm not THAT old. Whilst it is true that I worked for Mayfair, Club, Razzle and Penthouse in the murky past (and freelanced for many more), in order to smother naked ladies with raw eggs in 1974 I would've had to skive off from my A levels! And I wasn't that lucky in those days!
PS My first conventional glamour mag messy memory was also from a piece of fiction. It was in Mayfair in the late 70s (a copy I bought on a station after yet another unsuccessful job interview on HiFi News or somesuch). It was called Ripe Tomatoes and featured a couple making love whilst splattering each other with tomatoes. I remember showing it to a mate who thought I was mad for liking it.

Bill many thanks - I forgot the possibility that it could have been Men Only. Penthouse was around then, so I guess it could have been in there too..
The magazine was one of a collection we had "out the back" of the computer room of the firm I worked for then; until one day the lady Operations Manager found them and "suggested" that we get rid of them. I should have been more forthright and staked my claim on that one!

Unlikely to be Penthouse (again too conventional). This was a US mag like Playboy which didn't launch a UK edition until the 80s.
You should have held onto it. Men's mags from 1970s are very collectable. Sadly not the 80s ones which I have dozens of!

I also vaguely remember a messy shoot in a mag in the '70s. It was a cafe scene with a girl dressed as a french maid and a customer, from what I recollect it was just pies. I think it might have been Men Only. I saw it in about '77, when I would have been 17, the barbersin Radcliffe I used to go to for my hair cut then had a collection of adult mags lying about on the table next to where you sat down to wait. Used to try and go when there was a big queue!
From the same place and at about the same time I also remember reading a letter to the mag suggesting a messy scene, which was possibly where my interest in Splosh began. The description of the suggestion was superb, it was for a formal evening function with several girls glammed up in evening dresses pelting each other with food and losing their clothes. The finale would have been where the hostess of the function would come into the scene of chaos and resign herself to her inevitable messing up!!
Strange, isnt it how things like this stay in your memory for 35 years
