Hi
Somebody asked me this on the phone so I thought I'd pass it on to you.
Has the current economic climate affected the way you get messy or the messy products you buy?
Have you stopped or cut down on buying DVDs or downloads or joining websites cos you are saving for your heating bills?
Do you not buy food for sexual purposes any more cos you need to eat it or do you use cheaper products than you used to?
Or do you really want to hit BBC Financial Correspondent Robert Peston with a big pie?
Let us know how you feel...
Bill
Does the Credit Crunch Affect Sploshing?
it just makes me feel more rebellious and makes me want to tip even more custard over my head tbh!
I do tend to buy cheaper stuff where possible, and I have my own funny little recipies and stuff that means I can get same results as with branded sploshing items
I have also cut back on shoe buying to allow for more custard/porn/etc

It hasn't affected me or really... as a lifetime student, and still really bumming around here in Whistler now I've never had money to spend really. I've tended to have a bit more extra money than a lot of people in my situation due to not drinking, which saves quite a lot of cash in the long run.
That said, sploshing has been affected by moving to a mountain resort! We're sharing a house with quite a few people, severely reducing opportunity and food is really expensive here. We were always ones for cheap stuff for sploshing. 20 packets of smart price pudding were great mess for about 2 pounds. Nothing like that here, still, such is life.
I guess as Candy says, it's probably most dependent on a persons attitude and personal preference. For most people some luxuries are having to make way, and some people will cut back in different areas.

I love a messy girl
oatmeal vs. movies
I'm way more into wam than ever. What's cheaper? covering two people in oatmeal, or taking two to the movies. Make your own fun. And buying vids / mags is WAY cheaper than dating.

The conventional wisdom is that demand for any sort of pornography is inelastic (insensitive to changes in income or price) because it is addictive. More so with a fetish, I would guess.
Its also more than likely that a recession will push down the supply price of porn as more women are attracted by the relatively high earnings on offer. (Some people argue that porn is exploitative on these grounds - though the real oppressors could be seen as the financiers and their government allies).
Lastly, developments in cyber-space continue to make porn more available at lower prices.
Tip: if you want to beat the financial crisis invest in your favourite fetish!

I think that if people are very into wam - or any fetish, for that matter - then they'll find a way to do it more cheaply if they have to. Like Jon said, we're not really in the position to have a big session right now (and we're far, far away from Tesco Value custard and Asdas angel delight) but if it was a choice, I'm sure he'd go for a session rather than buying downloads or porn (I dont tend to buy subscriptions etc.)
Also theres a lot of free stuff out there, too, which while it may not be your favourite, is free.

In 2006 things were riding high for me. Had saved up 18 grand for the deposit for my new home, it was going to be my new babe pad. My works had just got a new printing press and an expanding order book and I got a great pay rise. I always had enough money to go out once a week with the lads in Blackpool and easily enough for a handful of downloads a month and a few private sessions each year.
In 2008 and the credit crunch things couldn't be much worse for me. All that 18 grand I saved up over 6 years for my home has already nearly been wiped off the value. My 2 year starter mortgage deal has come to an end and its costing an extra £90 a month. My works needed emergency cash to help them through some cash flow problems but banks seemed to have stopped lending to small businesses. We had a stark choice redundancy or a 20% pay cut. Took the pay cut to keep my job but as you can imagine things are tight. Can't afford to buy girls a drink when I'm out so my pad remains babeless
I'd love the odd private session but at a minimum of £150 a go its out of the question right now really. I have a session piggy bank which I am managing to keep around 2 quid a week in loose change for, so thats something to look forward too lol. Only thing I can ask from models is to crunch their prices a bit and may be they would get a few more bookings from guys like me who are finding times very hard.
I pretty much halved my downloads by the summer, even had to cancel the Silly House which I was gutted about mainly because the bloody credit card company reduced my limit to £50 more than I owed so was too risky having a payment coming out every month.
I'd been waiting for the Splosh downloads for some time and have bought 5 so far. This shows what great value they are as I can't afford much at all after my bills. This is a good topic Bill as even in these harsh times positive thinking can always prevail. As I can hardly afford to do much the splosh forum and website is a God send, so much free stuff and the forum will keep me company in those cold dark nights when I can't go out for a beer. I'm also more inclined to buy from Splosh as I feel part of my download fee goes towards keeping the forum running. I got one of those new pre paid credit cards this week and this means I simply buy my downloads with what I can afford and its security against internet fraud too.
Sorry if its a bit of a rant, but its Saturday night and I'm at home alone nothing much better to do. I'm certainly hoping for an upturn in the economy soon.

As of right now, all my possessions related to sploshing are in storage. Most all that I own currently is except for some clothes and the computer which is what I'm typing this on atm.
Trying to find better paying work than what I have is where the crux of the problem is. I can't afford my own place which would allow much more in the way of sploshing to occur.
No I haven't forgot about the poll I'd set a couple months back but that's also postponed indefinitely until I'm running solo.
That being said Mud is still free
cheap if you don't get enough rain and need to make it your self.

Quite funny you should say that Bill because i had an epic Splosh session last night & food wise it has not affected my pocket in anyway, me & my wife usually Splosh every 2 or 3 months and we stock pile stuff insted of bulk buying in one go. However we do use a LOT of stuff many large bowls & buckets & because we are wimps we microwave it all
+ i have the 4 rings on the cooker on the go + we have the heating full on & then after the session the chair the bowls & the buckets ( also the poly plates, i re-use cos i`m cheap ) all go in the bath and i wash them all off with the shower which takes about an hour, & with the time it takes to wash to heavily messy bods ( there was an issiue with soft margarine & my Wifes hair, great fun but she wont let me do that again ! ) Anyway i was thinking such a massive use of power is going to send my bills through the roof.
In answer to your question though Bill no it has not affected the way we Splosh

By which you mean he explained to the investors, in language they understood, what was happening, and thus prevented city financiers from behaving as they felt like with (generally) other peoples money?
Hmmmm - I suspect there are a few City traders that deserve a pieing, especially in the US - short selling in the current circumstances for example, is immoral, and has rightly been curtailed through legislation.
It wasn't that long ago that I'd punch someone in the face when they pissed me off; now I just delete them from Facebook - that'll show the mother-fuckers...

he brought out scare mongering tacticts which in turn made a tough situation worse, if people hadn't withdrawn all their money from Northern Rock, it would still be a functioning bank without the need for nationalisation!
and before anyone gets any ideas, my company and i do not participate in any short selling tactics and anyone who breaks these rules are dismissed!
