It’s time to announce the details of the November 2011 London Meet !

THE DATE: THURSDAY THE 3RD OF NOVEMBER 2011
START TIME:5.30PM TIL LATE.

To help find the right group quickly look for the seasonal item which this time is a mini christmas tree on the centre of the table along with a Christmas card. If you can't find us call the London Meet mobile on 07984 886 085 and we will find you and bring you over to the group.

There is also a wide selection of buses to choose from, serving near and far in all directions. The Penderels Oak is nice and big and has two bars (one on street level and another basement bar downstairs). We will be located in the main upstairs bar and as near to the main entrance as we can be. When you enter the main door there are some tables directly ahead in the corner and we aim to be in or close to that area.

WHAT IS A LONDON MEET

The London Meet is for people from the wam community to meet other fellow wammers in person and put faces to the names. It is about having a few drinks, building trust and friendships and generally getting to know each other a little better in real life. It has been, in fact, a springboard to arrange other meets and events as a result. The discussions will not always be wam, plenty of other general chitter-chatter goes on too, so feel free to talk about anything you like ! It is also a great place to offer your services, promote your content, buy and sell wam stuff and have fun !

The pub serves a very good selection of ales, ciders, wines, beers and spirits. In addition there is also a wide range of soft drinks on offer to go with the 'pub grub menu' and Thursday night is curry night !

I'M NOT FROM LONDON CAN I COME

Anyone and everyone who wants to come is invited, so come along ! ! ! The London Meet is open to all, we have had many people come a long way from far and wide to be there.

Just wanted to update you on the travel side of things for the meet.

At the moment you can save a few quid by booking your tickets in advance online.

Examples for some coach trips are, Birmingham about £10 return, from Manchester £15, from Newcastle £20, from Bristol £12, from Edinburgh £37 (remember these will start to go up over the coming weeks).

Some excellent tickets on offer if you book soon, you may be better off booking 2 single journeys, for example Bristol to London £10 each way. (Normal off peak return £61)

Hotel wise

You can still bag a travelodge in town for about £62 but these will start to go up soon. If you prefer to take your chances nearer the time i would recommend http://www.laterooms.com or http://www.lastminute.com

Thanks to a rather crap forecast, cycle commutting has been abandoned for the rest of the week (more from the increased risk of death than the getting wet!) so I'll be there, although finishing work at 3 means I'll be there early... Have stuck a Christmas card in my bag!
