Anyone else noticed posts seem to be disappearing, starting from a few days ago?

I see some of my replies to some stories have vanished, and the last reported post in this forum was a week ago apparently!

It's also got all the times of posting screwed up... it says I made this post 'today at 01:32'. It's currently only 01:15. :S

Going to make a guess we got rolled back to an earlier back-up. Guessing things aren't going well on the server front.

It was down yesterday afternoon so I moaned at them. Seems they got it back up but (as you say) missed a week's posts.

Yes, this is a bit odd, given that it was ok last night when I checked at about 10 or 11pm, after yesterday afternoon's long 'outage' so they had managed to restore it successfully after that problem was solved. As you say, several days' worth of messages have disappeared sometime overnight. I'd get on to them again and give them a bit of an ear bashing if I were you. That shouldn't be happening! If nothing else, it shows that they're not backing up your system frequently enough!

Earbashing already done though I didn't know about the correct version appearing for a couple of hours last night.

Fuck knows what they're up to.

Sorry I wasn't around to moan yesterday afternoon - doing visit to hospital for Mother's Day. Seems I can't leave this site alone even for a Sunday afternoon.

Arrggh, what are they doing? The database was fine when I posted around 21:00 last night (after the server reappeared) and then they've rolled it back a week or so? Would have been nice to have a heads up from them so we could have made sure we'd backed it up too!
Apologies for the problems but it is unfortunately down to several third parties at the moment and shouting at them doesn't seem to help that much!

I gave up on the shouting some time back. Trying to be polite now, but still not getting replies (though I did get the forum back up again!).

Lost some of the best posts ever made there.

All because the server hamster went tits up...

Yes, frustratingly, I've lost a PM thread which had some good links in it too.

I'm glad pup saw that it had been correctly restored yesterday evening - I was beginning to wonder whether I'd imagined it!

Is it time to find a new host?

If this latest 'fix' doesn't work then we will start the search for a new host. Sorry about any losses. I notice the 'pros' soon reposted!
