Hi all,
I went to the riding-stables I use a couple of days ago to ride the horses.
I turned up in the old white jodhpurs I have (the pair I was going to ruin in the mud last year), as my black ones had been washed and were not quite dry. However when I got there the girl I ride with started making fun of them, and so did a couple of other girls there. They don't bother if I am wearing dark jodhpurs, but white-a different matter.
There were comments along the lines of "you are too late for the fancy dress party", to "here comes bambi, look at his legs!". This was all meant in fun by the way, not nastily. The girl I ride with said I should never wear the white jods again, saying she would personally burn them if I turn up in them again. I said no she couldn't.
Anyhow, once we had ridden our horses and had a drink (or three), the subject of my jods came up again.
It was decided that we should have a little fun competition, and if I lost my jods would get destroyed.
We couldn't come up with a forfeit for my friend though, as it seemed inappropriate to suggest the same thing for her and her jods are black with a leopard print seat and are really unusual, it would be a real shame to trash them.
Eventually one of the others suggested that as she is always fussing about her hair, even saying she doesn't like wearing hats as it messes her hair up, we have decided her forfeit is to have some horse-food rubbed into her hair. She was not happy at first about this as (as far as I know) she isn't into sploshing, and no-one knows I am either, but she thinks I will lose. However the girl who makes up the horse feeds said she will add molasses to the stuff we will use to make it extra sticky, and seems to be enjoying the idea of helping rub it into her hair!.
This weekend is set to be the date, and we are doing best of five mini events (on horseback).
These will be-
1-Mini dressage test
2-Flat race(timed, not head to head)
3-jumping
4-bareback pony race
5-mini obstacle race (pony club games type thing).
She is confident of winning 4-1 events, possibly all 5, but I am not too sure.
My secret weapon is the flat race ( I once rode racehorses in training), and the bareback pony race, not sure on the others though.
So, if you wish to (possibly) see pictures of a nice girl getting horse-feed rubbed into her blonde hair, hope I win!
Or, if you wish to see me have my jodhpurs messed and destroyed, hope I lose!
I will try and post some pictures, although I am not sure about her allowing them to be taken, she doesn't think it will be an issue as she is sure I will lose anyway!
There may be a delay in the results appearing on here due to other commitments, but will try.
Feel free to add comments as appropriate, depending on who you want to see messed up!

Re: messy fun at the stables!
Well good luck! To be honest I would not be sure if I would rather win or lose, shame you can't engineer a draw! Do you know how they will destroy your jods if you lose, knowing most stables they will be well and truly trashed!
Enjoy and I look forward to hearing about the results!

Re: messy fun at the stables!
Hmmm, not sure what they have in mind, I don't think any of them are into sploshing (as far as I know), however mention was made of burning them a couple of times-hopefully not while I am still wearing them
In real terms, I think just messing them with what is normally around a stable yard could be likely, probably mud or horse feed-nothing too smelly ar nasty will be used.
That was agreed on both parts-more to protect my 'friends' hair than me I think.
It would be nice to lose to get messed up by the girls, but I am quite enjoying the idea of winning to
a) prove I can ride well,
b) see the look of horror on her face if I win, knowing she will get her hair messed up,
c) I am looking forward to messing her up!!!
Will see what happens, and take a change of clothes with me-just in case!

Re: messy fun at the stables!
Well, it happened yesterday evening. not good news for me I'm afraid. My riding 'friend' won, and started wondering why I wanted a couple of pictures taking of the messing-up session. I will post them on here and details (if anyone is interested in seeing and hearing about it), in the next couple of days, when I get the pictures.

Oh dear... I do hope you get a chance for a ride-off to get your own back! Better luck next time, but I bet you enjoyed it!

Re: messy fun at the stables!
Well we decided to wait until towards the end of the day.
No-one much knew what our ideas were, only a couple of the other girls there. As it turned out, there was only myself, my riding friend and the girl who feeds the horses on an evening actually there.
The one who feeds the horses had been asked to sort out some exercise for the Shetland ponies sometime over the weekend, and thought it would be fun to use them for our little competition. Bang went my theory of winning the race due to me having ridden race-horses before, but the same applied to my friend, who was fully confident of winning the jumping competition. I am not good at show-jumping at all, but going over jumps 12" high on a Shetland pony was very amusing, and it is any surprise we actually managed to do anything for laughing so much.
Anyway, I lost the dressage test (not surprised at that),
Won the flat race (my friend fell off going round a corner!)
Lost the jumping (no surprise)
Won the bareback race with ease,
and that left the games to decide.
I lost by 5 seconds, I dropped a ball I had to collect as I rode by then put in a bucket so had to get off and pick it up. If I hadn't dropped the ball I would have won.
All in all it was good fun, and the ponies enjoyed playing games and got their exercise.
However, then I had to have my white jods trashed, we went into the tack-room which doubles up as a junk store.
My friend tied my hands behind my back with a headcollar, then found a marker pen and wrote on my jods, but the pen had almost run out. Rummaging around in the junk (nothing had been prepared, she just used what she could find), some horrible green paint was found which she painted 'bambi legs' across my jods with. This was her 'theme', which she wouldn't let up with, and when some spray paint was found that is what she continued to write on my jods. Some hoof oil was found in a tub, there wasn't much left so it was rubbed over my jods. Then some blue spray stuff was found, there was no pressure in the tin and it took some vigourous shaking to get it to come out and go over me.The front and back were treated the same.
She then got some scissors and cut at the bottom of the legs, before ripping them to ribbons, however she didn't rip the jods right off, only ripping the legs open.
At one point I thought she was also going to do the same to my t-shirt, but she didn't, as it was only supposed to be my jods getting ruined.
She then untied me, and I could get changed and wash my legs.
As she left, she said she enjoyed messing me up, and she would do it again if I wore white jods to the stables.
I think I might go to the discount tack shop this week, and see what they have
Anyway here are a couple of pictures of the event.
