Wasn't sure if this was spam or not but it might be useful to those who want to keep Youtube clips. And for those clips that are only going to last a week before some Daily Mail reading bigot insists Youtube takes them down.

From googling it this appears to have been a link to a dodgy virus riddled program. Please runs virus scaner if you used it.

There are plenty of sites that will let you download YouTube clips without installing programs. I'll post a link to one later when I'm at my pc.

I've noticed these sorts of things popping up more and more on the forum - I think some spam accounts may be starting to break through or something!

I use http://www.keepvid.com, which provides links for most of Youtube's stuff - usually with several different choices for resolution and quality downloads.

I think most of the spammy links are posted by people these days rather than robots so it's hard to keep on top of. You just have to delete them when you see them. Everyone can help out by reporting dodgy posts and being sensible and not clicking on anything that looks dodgy! Oh and make sure you have antivirus! If you are on windows microsoft security essentials is good.

We did ban loads of IP addresses but unfortunately it affected some legit people too so we had to relax it a bit too will have a look and see if there is anything else we can do.

Yes, I try to get to them before they are up for too long but as Pup says they register legitimately so no software prevents it. You just have to look every morning and remove them.
