How many of you are on twitter as a splosher. I was thinking of joining and adding my tweets but it would be nice to know there were other sploshers around.

After all this time, I still don't get Twitter, or its apparantly astronomical value. It seems to work best as a one to many communication medium - one 'guru' and thousands of 'followers'. Since the vast majority of us will never reach 'guru' (Stephen Fry!) status, and I personally have zero interest in the mundane elements of a 'gurus' life (nor, for that matter, in being a 'guru'!), I simply can't see Twitter's value - but I'll accept (tinged with sadness at the world!) that such a view seems to be just mine.

Gunjee has been quietly experimenting with twitter, as a way to announce updates on the site as well as post details about our live events....

....if anyone wants to follow us, the address is http://twitter.com/#!/Gunjee_dot_com, or there are details in the news page (a few items down....) on the news page of Gunjee!

We here at Messymayhem.com use twitter too just follow http://twitter.com/messymayhemcom. We use it for updates, and sometimes as it happens stuff from our shoots, plenty of unseen stuff there from shoots gone by.

I'm afraid I don't use Twitter. I do announce updates on Facebook on http://www.facebook.com/bill.shipton but Twitter is a step too far for me. As Driversoft said it relies on the principle that I tell my followers 'every day-to-day event in all its minute and tedious attention to detail' (a line from My Pink Half of the Drainpipe by the Bonzos) and even my ego doesn't extend to informing the world when I eat a sandwich or get in the lift. On my Facebook you will find Splosh! photos etc but it is about my life in general (so lots about the pub) rather than just sploshing, and my friends are real mates as well as 'followers' which I prefer. It's more interactive than Twitter too. I certainly wouldn't 'follow' a celebrity.

Of course, I also share other sploshing stories here and on the blog.

Yeah loads of us are there.... but as I think I said the last time this came up on here I really am no good at it, wayyyy prefer Facebook. I know Bill is on Facebook too as are thousands of sploshers.

Bob on the other hand prefers Twitter and from following Noise I know he uses it quite a bit.

so here we are

http://www.facebook.com/MlleTee (I know this should be Twitter but hey, I use it daily and like Bill post pics there when I remember to)

Having said that, Twitter is probably more reliable than our bloody forum right now! No fault of ours. It's our hosts and yes we are shouting at them - a lot.

On this subject I'm with Driversoft and Bill. I have a life to live (for a few more years, I hope!) and can't be arsed to do idle chat online. I used to be on facebook but have dropped off now as I couldn't see the point. So what the f..k am I doing now!!!

I think it all depends on how you use twitter. It can be used for a lot of irrelevant drivel, but if you do that too much it tends to lead to people unsubscribing (unless you do happen to be Mr Fry). If you just use it to post occasional updates, such as when you update the blog, post new videos or have interesting bits of news then I think it'd be a good tool since not everyone will check the website/forums/blog that frequently
