i had some free time after work so i changed into a pair of flat pumps and went for a walk over hampstead heath to see how muddy its getting
well, i hardly entered the park and slosh, stepped straight into a waterlogged mudpuddle without seeing it, so yeah, its really muddy in alot of places, there are some very well churned up muddy paths and lots of waterlogged grassy areas where the water runs down to and of course the natural spring that keeps alot of the soggyness going for a long time
trying to negotiate a muddy hill in flat court shoes is alot harder than high heels or high wedges, theres no heel to dig in and definatly no grip on the sole, i had worn flats over there in the summer when it was wet but it was only localised mud, now that the hills are muddy to i ended up getting to a point where i couldn't stop sliding and ended up sliding down on my arse and completely covered in mud from the waist down, loooovely
so hampstead is a good place to get muddy without trying too hard,it was around 6pm so the lakes were pretty cold, i did try sitting in a knee high waterlogged puddle but that was just as muddy so i jumped into a lake waist high and it was cooooold.
