Question....

Just wondering if any of you sploshers have used a a vax or similar wet and dry type vacuum for a splosh clean up?
Reading some reviews of various products it seems that they can take quite a bashing with allsorts including pond sludge.
Also....if any of you have one and have any idea whether it would be suitable for sucking goo directly out of a paddling pool without damaging the pool.
Using the pool for sploshing is so brilliant but the clean up can be backbreaking so just being able to hoover it up would be marvellous. Thoughts anyone?

They work fine but you need a big one! Small ones fill up very quickly. Machine Mart catalogue has some nice sturdy ones.

hmmm, not for cleaning up but it has given me an idea for a custard delivery system, you could use the hoover's ability to suck up mess to dump the custard or mess over you rather than into its container

Well if that particular model does work well for wet, it must be better than it is for dry. I've used one of those for more 'legitimate' purposes and have more or less given up with it as it seems to be a machine designed to make a hell of a lot of noise without actually getting any bits off carpets! Absolutely useless for normal dry work compared with my Dyson at home which actually lifts the carpet off the floor! (I wouldn't try the Dyson on wet though!)

I've used a Vax and it sucked goo out of the pool without damaging it... only issue was the tank size was only about 8 litres which wasn't big enough for the volume of goo that we'd used and son we ended up going back to scooping it out by hand instead!!

Hi p2m2, Yes I think even if I got a 12 litre capacity one it would take a good few goes to get the lot.

Unless you could station the motor unit somewhere it can just dump out the goo (may need to override any safety features to do so) in which case you could empty it fiarly easily!!
