Want to share the fun I had today

Unfortunately, I have no pics, but I engaged in some outdoor, semi-public mudlarking this morning. At the end of last summer, while hiking, I came across a dried up pond. It was very muddy, but the weather was getting cooler, and I never had an oppurtunity to sample the mud. While hiking last week, I checked out the pond, thinking that since it has been rainy, maybe there would be some nice mud around the shoreline. Well, to my surprise, it was not a pond, but a soupy muddy mess! I hiked around it and found the earthen damn that had made it a pond in years past had burst this past spring during the floods! The weather has been warm the past few days, so I packed a bag and headed out there today.

I wore some beat up, pink, spandex 'granny panties', and a black sports bra (both have been heavily sploshed in with food on multiple occasions). I also wore some wetsuit style divers boots to protect my feet from rocks and sticks. The pond was fed by a few natural springs, so the mud is super smooth, deep, and fresh, so very little of the "natural" odor you sometimes experience. I sloshed through and found an area about 20 feet long by 12 feet wide, and sunk in. The top 8 inches were very soupy, and the mud underneath was VERY thick. The deepest hole I found I was able to sink to my crotch with my legs straight beneath me. I have never experienced mud this smooth and deep, and it was like pure ectsasy! After about 20 minutes of crawling and rolling around, I climbed down to the stream that is fed by the springs, and washed off with the bar of soap, washcloth, and towel that I had brought along.

The spot is a good 2+ miles off the road, but it is a public hiking area none-the-less, and it is the ballsy-est messy experience I have ever had! No one came by, and I am seriously thinking of going it again next week.
