That would actually be a good "excuse" to organise something like this - since the hot weather's a bit unusual in this country something unusual like a pool of mud for people to cool down in wouldn't be that out of place.
Pity, the local council's organised a weekend of events down by the river here to "welcome summer", this would have probably been something silly which would have fitted in.
And safer than jumping into the river too...
