Downloading from YouTube, etc

Postby christh » 05 Apr 2010, 11:02

YouTube have changed their format and no longer show the title of each download (permalink?), preventing me from using Savetube to download them. I also used to be able to download stuff from Dailymotion United Kingdom, but no longer can.

Does this stop my cheap- skating pleasure, or is there a fix?

If you're using Firefox I use DownloadHelper - it supports lots of sites and provides a button on each video it can download on a page.

I use RealPlayer, too. It's a free download. (Although I suspect they're doing horrible spyware stuff on my puter, no doubt.)

Thank you: I had never heard of RealPlayer, but have now downloaded it at it seems to do the biz both for YouTube and, more useful to this forum - Dailymotion United Kingdom which is essential viewing, for me anyway! I hope others can learn something useful from this thread!
