After all that...This Morning has dropped us!

Hi

Just heard been told by email that This Morning has dropped the sploshing item. We don't know why exactly. It was all going ahead on Friday and I spent the weekend putting together clips for them. Emma (the researcher I have been dealing with) has said she'll ring me tomorrow and explain. Wish she'd told me before I spent £17 getting my suit cleaned!

Think I might go to the pub...

Bill

I reckon it'll be more like excuses rather than reasons...

Talk about short notice, and by email too! It should certainly be interesting to hear these "reasons".

Apparently there's been a row about the programme today. Seems they had couples on dressed in pyjamas demonstrating sex positions.

Aw, that's terrible. I swear, if they've pulled it because of bad publicity from the Daily Fail I'll fly into a rage

Well I've just read the Daily Mail article and I'm going to have to have a rant anyway (sorry about being slightly off topic, but I feel it needs saying)

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/ar ... riate.html

There is absolutely nothing inappropriate about this, the reluctance to talk about sex in this country is part of the reason we have ridiculously high levels of STDs and unwanted pregnancies. The Daily Mail are just fostering an unhealthy attitude to sex - there is absolutely nothing wrong with sex and unless people start talking about it more openly then we are never going to solve a lot of the problems we have.

I really don't get puritan attitudes to sex, I don't understand why they want to repress others from enjoyment, I don't understand why they want to absolutely control one of the most basic human instincts.

Sorry to rant, it just winds me up

@schofe seems to have been justifying their sex week series for most of the day. Can we drop the Daily Mail? Is that possible?

Not much different from the States, I see.

I am interested to see why the feature was cancelled and why the segment producer used email to inform Bill.

I agree with Pacman....the attitude to sex in the UK either seems to be the Daily Mail "isn't this shocking, and here's the pictures to prove it" puritan views, or the giggly "ooooh, errr, Missus" approach.

It looks as though "This Morning" seems to be taking the latter approach.....and if they can't get their act together any better than that, I guess we're all best out-of-it with them.

What annoys me is that sex is the most natural thing in the world, and an healthy matter-of-fact approach removes all need for embarrassment, and certainly the need for so-called "sex education" for 5 year-olds. I'm not saying that "anything goes" but a sensible approach will enable kids growing up to judge what's right-and-wrong and how to build up good and healthy relationships.

That's my rant.

Strictly 'tongue in cheek'.-

I suppose it was inevitable; 'our' Holly was involved! - A very dir-ty young woman  (well I'm often, with justification, described as a 'dirty old man' so I reckon that's fair :P ). In our interview (now on The Free House :D ) she tried to get me to say there was sex involved in Sploshing. I denied it  . But I lied   and she saw through my pretence. If it was her idea to run this 'sex week', I applaud her efforts and its a pity it didn't work out. :(

I went to the Daily Mail article and went through the comments voting down all the prudes and voting up all the 'lighten up, people' comments.
