Great blog, Bill,
Looks fantastic, but what have they got against the south-west, or what have south-western theatres got against them??
Nothing within 100 miles of Bristol!!
Mike.

Or Scotland. Last year they toured all the Butlins resorts - was that any nearer?

Re: The Nearest Thing to Tiswas Live!
Ah yes, I remember it well! Did you sit in the front row again? Danny is indeed 'buff as fuck" (I think that was MY phrase). Did he get his kit off again? He fueled many a fantasy of running away with them and being their full time stooge when I went three years ago. Looks like some singer beat me to it! I hate her!! Nor did I have Clive sing to me - I am now officially a jealous cow!
(Sticks out wobbly bottom lip and sulks - hoping for a big pie in the puss!).
Sulky Hayley
PS I couldn't go this time as it was during the week but I see they have a weekend show in Worthing. I want to be the female teletubby!!

OMG, I LOVE that line. If you don't mind, I'm going to borrow it! Hubby gets a little annoyed at me when I swoon over a hottie in his presence, and we're going to Vegas in about 10 days for a week. I'm sure I'll see SOMEONE there I'll want to say that about. I think he'll actually laugh if I put it that way!

Re: The Nearest Thing to Tiswas Live!
I went to see Circus Hilarious today.
Should I get the 'WAM' bit out of the way first....
There were two bits.....
In the first half they did the Teletubbies skit.....3 Dad's from the audience plus Danny the clown as Tinky Winky.....Danny storms off and they go for a lady in the audience.
I thought this might be staged but it's deffo not.....then the good bit happened....the plain looking Mum they picked didn't want to go up but the cute 20-odd year old daughter with nice dark hair did want to go up.
Anyway she gets to pie the three blokes........but as Danny came out with the first pie she thought it was for her and tried to leg it......when she realised it was for her to pie the blokes she was quite pleased and more relaxed.
She only managed to smear a little bit of pie on each blokes chin and sat down thinking that was it....lol
There was a superb bit of shock, then attempted escape followed by the inevitable nervous anticipation as pies were handed out to the three blokes who pie sandwiched with the first two and then the final one was straight in the face and back over her head.......pretty mega....
Then they had the break and she re-emerged for her seat still with a load of pie in her hair.
She said to her family "Oh my God they let them pie me....."about 7 times and said behind the stage they took her in a dressing room and towelled her face off, then let her out and she said her Mum could pay for her to go to the hairdressers.
In the second half they do the Titantic song as Bill and Hayley describe and Hannah Robson the singer gets the bits of paper blown at her, lettuce thrown at her, water squirted at all and finally snowy foam squirted either side of her head.
So that was the WAM bit.
Re. the actual show it was actually REALLY funny....I mean REALLY funny.....Danny Adams is brilliant and it's worth going regardless of wanting to see a bit of WAM.
Everything he is part of is funny and is done with his Dad Clive Webb.
Also funny is one of the tall stooges with them.
I'm deliberately not telling you some funny bits in case you go to see it.
It slows up when Cousin Timoni the clown comes out but thats because it's so funny when Danny and Clive are on.
I can't recommend it enough.

I hope you mean the actual show WAS really funny not wasn't judging from the rest of the comments. Like I said I went with a friend who enjosy sploshing but hates clowns and she loved it. We still shout "Look at iiiiiit!" about things when slightly relevant. It is a great show. Danny s the best slapstick performer I've seen for ages.

Re: The Nearest Thing to Tiswas Live!
Sorry to resurrect an old thread but thought I'd mention that i went to the circus today and it was absolutely hilarious!
As Bill and others had indicated the comic timing of Clive Webb and particularly his son Danny was superb. Although the WAM (sorry Splosh!) content was thin it was a really superb afternoon of comedy and i'd recommend to anyone. After the show I was lucky enough to have a brief chat with both performers and they were really nice guys and genuinely seemed pleased they had a happy customer, Oh and the highlight for me was one piece of action when Danny pinched a walking stick from an old man in the audience, and threw it backstage. Unfortunately he forgot about it and as the cast were taking their final encore the old man struggled to the stage interrupted the applause and demanded his stick back! This was not part of the act and both Danny and Clive found it hilarious whilst respecting the elderly gent!
Yes the audience participation bit was fun although the female selected from the audience was slightly above average size and the female singer didn't get especially messy or wet but the humour elsewhere more than made up for it.

I think the degree of mess varies from venue to venue. I would love to see the show at the Hippodrome in Yarmouth (more like a circus ring) which if the DVD is anything to go by is the messiest by far.

Haha, I have just discovered from the Tiswasonline site that a bunch of them went the same night as Malc, and Peter Thomas (organiser of the Tiswas pub nights) was one of the Teletubbies who got pied! Small world, eh?
