I do agree with Felipe, it would be great to have something like that . Problem with the film though; I thought it might be an opportunity to learn some Portuguese from the subtitles but I couldn't keep my eyes on the words with so much going on!

What a fantastic clip! The bits with posh Bill were clearly the best.

What with this and the amazing behind the scenes/making of stuff from the greatest hits downloads I feel like I've got a great insight into how this stuff gets put together!

I'd attend that ball, although I doubt we would be as aesthetically pleasing as a group as the people they pulled in

As I said on another forum somewhere, the problem with their Splosh Balls idea is that it was exactly that - balls. As you all well know, it is hard enough to get people to come to small get-togethers in the pub. When clubs have organised Splosh nights (even with sexual activity as advertised here some time back) people are understandably cynical about them.

As for the pool scene, that was balls too. There wasn't any film in the camera I was using and I don't take stills sets as I am useless at them. I certainly don't talk bollocks whilst I'm doing it as I was instructed to. They just put together the item so they could film it. There was no way we could have filmed it as well.

That item (ironically on HBO's Real Sex) took three days to film. Our girls all got paid, the ball guests got expenses, I got nothing except high blood pressure cos the New York director was a madwoman. There was some satisfaction though. At the same time, ITV company LWT were making a local programme about these mad Americans coming over and doing all this stuff and I was able to be honest to them - explaining that although they wanted it to sound like a global empire it was really two people working in a basement. That bit was fun.

Might tell the full story of it on the blog when I have time.

I still think that's one of the best 'public' descriptions of Sploshing I've seen. It's a really good summary of the sorts of things we like to see and do and doesn't make us all sound like deranged axe-murderers, which some of the popular press here would have done, given half the chance. Who was the American woman in the supermarket and how on earth did you/they manage to find that number of people willing to do that on camera?!

This article is pure nostalgia: I saw it on telly many years ago, and sent for Splosh 40 - the last one and my introduction to a mad world!

There must be a way of having parties like the one shown. They would have to be well policed, and ground rules laid down. Perhaps people would have to go as couples to prevent an invasion of dirty old men. It could be an opportunity for sploshing and voyeurism, not random sex. Maybe we can fantasise on the games that could be played?

She is an American stand up comedienne who was working over here at the time. And as for the messy crowd the producer rang round fetish/swingers clubs and invited them. Tuppy Owen of Sex Maniacs Ball fame found a lot of them. The funniest part was that they spent around £300 on food to get messy with and the director wanted masses of writhing messy bodies on the floor. Instead she got an almighty food fight! I remember watching huge quantities of food flying through the air and the New York woman yelling, "Make them get sexy, Bill!" Errr..how exactly? Well, she got what she wanted eventually.

PS And as for avoiding dirty old men, even they didn't quite manage it. One man turned up and spent the entire time naked wanking in a corner.
