Splosh! top trumps!

I was digging around on my hard drive and found a file that I started creating after a discussion about top trumps way back in 2006!

I've finished them off and added a few more familiar names...

I'm probably way off on the 'stats', particularly the 'number of Splosh! appearances' - which I've counted as magazine+video appearances, but hey, I had great fun making them - especially as it forced me to look through some of the scans I took of the old Splosh! mags before I got rid of most of them (for space reasons etc)

The pictures are from Splosh! magazines (except the pic of Gilly). They show a small insight into some of the fantastic photoshoots that graced the pages of the old mag.... ah the good old days... the Hope you don't mind me posting these here Bill....

anyway, enjoy the cards.... let me know if the stats are anywhere near right!

Hey, great idea! You should do some more! Perhaps Bill might even put a section up on site for them! It would tie in well with the forthcoming (soon we promise) launch of the Splosh! Greatest Hits download site. You can read about the fun he's been having picking bits from the Juicy Pairs video on the blog (well, he plugged my bloggy efforts on Facebook so it's only fair!).

Well first of all, it depends on whether you mean retirement from messy modelling or retirement from modelling completely. Secondly are you including roles in our films or all messy films or just in the magazine in 'appearances'? Statistically it is a bit of a nightmare to work out, but a fun idea.

I guess I was meaning retirement from messy modelling (aka. the year the model hung up her jug of custard) and as for appearances I was meaning the magazine and videos.

You're probably right about it being a statistical nightmare, but the details aren't important - I just enjoed researching the images!

They're excellent, Snake. very cool card template design. They look just like real trumps.

I thought they could be even better with a couple of extra stats. My marvel superhero ones have 5 or 6 stats to choose from. Maybe one extra stat could be 'fun factor' .... a score out of 100. Emma would get a high score for that one!!

thanks Phantom... they did originally have more stats on them but I removed some coz they were just too hard to score!

I had a 'Wow! factor' score (for which Emma scored 10, naturally) and there was also a 'humour / good sport' score.

Even with the 3 stats it was difficult to get numbers that seemed right.... as I said above, I enjoyed making them - especially the 'research' stage....

Well it's all subjective I suppose - but since you're the one making the cards, it should be your say-so who gets what...

How cool it would be if you printed and laminated them, and took them to one of the messy meets ... imagine everyone sitting around in the pub playing Splosh Top Trumps.

I think you could extend it to include modern day messy superstars and rising stars such as Maddy, Eden, India, some of Leonmoomin's girls, Miss T (Miss T would have some zeroes on her stats .... she delivers a lot of mess, but never receives as far as I can see)
