OT: Transformers - Revenge Of The Fallen

Went to see the new Transformers movie tonight. Not much in the way of WAM, though the lead female character does get rather dust/sandy soil stained, while dressed in tight white jeans, in the final sections. Not much in the way of believable plot either, but then if I wanted believable plot I'd not watch a superhero movie. :D Nice romp though! I gather Transformers purists hate it, but I never followed the original series or comics. Anyone else seen it / any opinions?

Since I'm from the area that a major part of the movie was filmed in. Some was filmed on my college alma mater's campus. I was happy to see and recognize many places I've been and have seen in person.

As far as plot and continuity, your right on the button with A) not entirely believable B) very long C) not much in the way of WAM except for that scene in the car with the coolant

I don't want to give away any details for those wanting to see the film.

For me it was a decent action movie. I'll leave it at that and give it 2 pies out of 4

I'm really not fussed about this one. The first one was all right - some very impressive effects. I can wait for the DVD of the second.

Still gagging to see 'Drag me to Hell' and would also like to see 'Up'. Actually - was supposed to see Drag me to Hell today, but the babysitter cancelled last minute. Bah

Oh dear - I've managed to wander off the topic of an already off topic thread.

This looks like noisy garbage. Which is what Michael Bay does best. In fact, I'd argue that Michael Bay epitomizes auteur theory. His films are his, no-one elses, and they carry his stamp. He may not be a good director (though still a talented, promising one if he were to at least try and make something meaningful) but he's certainly an auteur.

Can't believe giant transforming robots is unbelievable :)

An off topic off topic question... what is college Alma mater? Just the college you went to or is it something specific to a college?? I've seen it mentioned a few times recently and as a Brit is intrigued me!

Alma mater means the university you went to when you were younger.

I enjoyed the movie, although yes it was ridiculous it was quite funny.
