Download Updates

It's often a little while between fresh additions being posted on download stores, and this got me wondering - is uploading stuff onto the stores very time consuming, or do producers have other reasons for staggering the release of their material? I realise of course that production and editing etc is a lot of work and this will influence it, but Splosh for example has a big old backlog of stuff they've shot over the years that people would surely love to be able to download - do you just let it trickle out gradually for strategic reasons, or because it takes so long/is a lot of effort to get it up onto the site, or are their other technical reasons?
Can I just stress that this isn't a moan? While I'm very interested in being able to download as much Splosh stuff as possible (hint hint), I'm also just curious as to what determines what gets put up for sale and when.

My guess is that it doesn't make commercial sense to release a large amount of material at one go. Whilst there is some effort in the editing process, In general, people only have a certain budget for WAM downloads, so releasing much more than they are likely to buy in one or two goes will cause the material (perceptually) to 'hang around' and eventually appear to be obsolete. A slow release system means everything appears new.

It certainly isn't for reasons of 'commercial sense' (of which I have very little!).

There are two different elements to downloads in my opinion. First is brand new, unseen material which obviously requires shooting, editing and uploading and costs a fair amount of money so cannot be done every day (at least not by us in the current climate). We also like to edit the films properly so again they take time. The second is re-releasing old material which may not have previously been seen on download. At the present time, we haven't done the latter but will be soon for the benefit of those who don't like DVDs which we are told is quite a few of you. There will also be unreleased footage from classic films which we have found in the cupboard. It might also give people something 'nearly new' to look at whilst we make completely new films for Splosh! and GSH.

I appreciate that this might seem frustratingly slow to other people but wam producers have lives too which occasionally means they have to do other stuff (families, other work commitments, the pub), and just recently I have had a lot of 'other stuff' on.

We do however have some great new films on the way (being edited) and two girls (a genuine couple) who I met at a BDSM party say they are up for doing some sploshing in a style you really wouldn't believe! So there's plenty to look forward to.
