Here's a great idea!

Wamtastic have made their preview pictures ito a series of cool little messy comic strips.

check them out: http://www.wamtastic.com/News.php

I think this idea could be expanded on - a whole set turned into a comic.

As you know, we put captions to all our pics in the Free House and have thought about doing them as strips like this. Personally though, I think the bubbles spoil the photos. Just a personal belief.

Sorry Bill - it's been so long since I checked out the free house, I didn't realize you guys had already had a similar idea. I'll make a point of venturing over there again soon.

For those that don't like the wamtastic pics with the bubbles, the very same pics are available minus the bubbles - right here on the Splosh forums!

By the way - I'm not in any way connected to wamtastic, other than having met Andy at one of the London meets a few years back. He's a throughly decent bloke. The reason I promote them enthusiastically is because I'm a fan of what they do, and I find their style of WAM is the closest thing around at the moment to my own personal WAM tastes.

Its a good point that, your dammed if you do and dammed if you dont, with it being a comic strip.

We like it though, and we do try to keep the sight slightly diffrent with a retro feel to it.

Nothing wrong with that at all.

As for comics strips we did something similar in one issue of the magazine and it worked quite well there. It's good that people do things differently, so don't get discouraged, Andy.

Thank you Andy and the free house for fantastic light entertainment.

I would love to see more comic action, how about if you click on a picture a comedy comic caption will appear over the area you hover the mouse, so the full picture could be seen and appreciated.

Or possibly running a slide show type thing, so when you click the next button, the picture remains the same but the captions over the picture will appear (if you see what I mean).

Many thnaks

J.

Roll over hide+show speech ballons ... excellent idea, Smiley! Quite easy to do, too.
