Blanked-out/disgused faces in pictures?

Postby wampony » 28 Mar 2009, 13:29

Hi, I have noticed that when people post amateur pictures on here and they don't wish to show their faces for whatever reason- I have my reason for not wishing to show mine which I will not go into details of- they often blank out their faces completely or crop the photo so their head is removed--from the picture  but for me this spoils the effect so I decided to try using the horse-mask in photo's to hide my real face ( I dont really look like a horse  ), which also gives a totally different feel to sploshing.
My question to people is what do others prefer to see when someone wishes to hide their real identity-
Blanked out face?
Head removed from picture?
A fancy-dress mask covering the face/head?

I would be interested to hear what others think on this subject.

I prefer either a shot where the full face isn't in shot or one where they are wearing something like a opera mask as having a blanked/blurred face really distracts me. Having said that I'm just grateful for for what anyone posts and I totally understand the need for privacy.

blanked/burred faces really ruin it

a head or face cut out of shot by editing is terrible and I dont like masks either really

a face unrecogniseable because of the mess is the best thing! or with face turned away from camera, or not included in the shot at all

Candy is quite right; whats wrong with seeing the underneath of a pie covering the face?

Doh, That's an option I didn't think of when making the list but it is another way to conceal identity, thanks for opinions so far, Keep 'em coming!

We have always used the mess as a disguise or pics where Frilly is looking away. Sometimes it is my bum or belly that does the trick for us.

Being a fan of messy clothes, especially hugging a nice firm arse and also loving messy hair, then many of my favourite photos are taken from behind so not revealing the model's identity. If I was ever in a position to recognize a model from that type of shot then I would now I was in heaven.

Just had a brilliant idea but it will require some preparation. Listen very carefully, I shall say this only once!
#1 Set up a new persona where nobody knows you; do this by phone & mail, not in person.
#2 Do a Reggie Perrin/John Stonehouse disappearing act.
#3 When you have been declared as 'presumed dead' reappear in your new persona wearing the horses head. Never go out without it!
#4 Come back on the forum with your human head on!

Pie in the face works pretty well for obscurity, imo!

True but that does assume that people are into 'pie in face'. What if you're into 'sloppy clay down your tights' instead?
