A flick through the TV listings reveals that tonight at 12.40am, Channel 4 are showing A Dirty Shame, directed by John Waters.
Not a great film, it does however have a messy scene inspired by Splosh! itself. And that is not us being boastful. If you get the film on DVD, John Waters (famous for directing Pink Flamingos, Serial Mom and writing Hairspray) says in the interview that accompanies the film that he saw the magazine, liked it and therefore put a messy scene in the film. Hayley and I even filmed a brief reply. We were chuffed. It is not often that a Hollywood director says he likes something you did.
So record the film and skip through to the mucky scene. Of course, if they'd given us the money and let is film it, it would have been MUCH better! LOL or something

Sounds good, impressive to get a mention in a directors commentary! Anyway we could get it on here?

The film also gets a mention in 'This Film Is Not Yet Rated' - a documentary about the whole film censoring board. Was quite interesting listening to his views on sploshing:
Well, I watched it. I can't say I was very impressed. I'd say it warrants 1.5 stars, so below average. If they'd stopped before the final scenes, then it would maybe have been 2.5. I just felt the last bit was stretching the joke too far.

In fact I think Bill said:

Hey, I wasn't complaining that you'd given me false hope, just that I agreed it is not in fact a good film.
