Hi
The new forum is up now and we hope you are able to access everything on it. If you are having any problems posting, e-mail me at bill@splosh.co.uk and I will pass them onto Muckypup who knows what he is talking about unlike me!
One or two things are in different places but everything that was there before should be around. There are also some additions.
1) There is now a Quick Reply feature that appears at the bottom of all threads. This means you can send a text only reply without going onto the Post Reply page. If you want to post pictures however, you need to go onto the Post Reply page.
2) Replying quoting from previous posts is now simpler as well, especially if you want to use quotes from more than one post. Again it is in a slightly different place from before, but I hope you'll get used to it.
There are other things but hopefully we can deal with any other problems as we encounter them.
Hope you like it.
Bill

Testing quick reply
I notice that if I 'Control-Click' on a link, it opens a new tab in Firefox as always, but it also loads the link in the current window.
I used to 'Control-Click' on all unread links to open a bunch of tabs, then work through them - now I can't
A minor problem really - and the forum does look WAY smarter... Thanks for the work!

Woohooo!
Looking good, and yes I forgive Bill for taking my name out of the title (we both believe that the Forum has grown up to be more YOURS than mine). But rest assured I am not abandoning you all just yet!

Oh yes good spot! It's because the whole row is clickable so I think the control click opens the tab for the link you clicked, and then the row decides its been clicked too so the page navigates off as well. I'll try and fix it.
If you have a mouse with a scrolly wheel in the middle you can click that on a link to open a new tab, weirdly that seems to work as you would expect (for me at least).

Re: The New Forum
I've been trying to add a new comment to a thread on which I was the last previous poster. I wanted it to open in a new box but it seems to get itself added into my previous post of several days ago. Its annoying as the new comment has nothing to do with the previous one!
Bottoms Up!
Re: The New Forum
It's looking good.
Now all we have to do is find the profile button so that we can change our new impossible to remember password.

Do we still have to post pictures in reverse order?

If you go to the User Control Panel towards the top of the page you should be able to change your password/send PMs etc etc. I think the password is in the Profile tab and then 'Edit account settings' down the left hand side.

Oh yes, I hadn't realised that, I havent got as much to say as you obviously

I'll see whether you can change that.

Yep think so, that hasn't changed so the old reasons for doing that still hold I think

Re: The New Forum
Fixed that now Richard, I had installed a modification which I thought was supposed to stop people accidently posting twice, turns out one side effect was merging posts if you made the last few comments.

Can I point people in the direction of the FAQ too?
I've been fiddling about with this version of the forum for a couple of weeks now and I've only just noticed it
It taught me some stuff as well!

Re: The New Forum
I see that some of the announcements/stickies from the top of the page (for instance, the one about not posting underage pictures/links) have disappeared.
Can they be recovered?
Mike.

If one clicks on a members name with a view to sending them a pm, an error message appears.
Any ideas?
