TV-style slime recipies

PostPosted: 02 Dec 2008, 02:06

Hi all,

I've just been speaking to someone who has asked how they can make TV-style slime (a la NHP). I reckoned it was Methycellulose but have no idea where to get it.

Any suggestions on locations and costs?

Ta,

its not cheap stuff about £7 a packet which makes about 8/10 litres of gunge

Natrasol is the stuff most people use, can get it from gungetheboss.com as dids said, also from fundraisingsupplies.com or ebay. But if you want to buy bulk (i am going to do this as its cheaper) can be had from Basic Chemicals for £28 for a kilo (roughly 16-20 buckets of gunge depending on thickness) then just need poster paint to colour it.

Natrosol is not that messy though. I have felt it when I attended an episode of Noels house party at Battersea park in 1996. I managed to grab a handful of it when I went up to greet a woman who had just been gunged in a phone box with it.

It feels very much like cheap tomato sauce the type you get in plastic bottles at supermarkets as that is usually what it is used for commercially to thicken foods like sauces. It dries after a while leaving just the colouring behind.

If you want a really disgusting gunge then you cant beat mixing together a range of thick sloppy desserts. I think natrolsol is just too clean for hardcore gungers like us.

Your obv not using it right. Though I doubt Stonecastle has ever bought Natrasol from a supplier.

Chantelle certainly never complained about it not being messy enough. This was a single packet mixed with 8 litres of water (our standard thickness)and a bottle of blue poster paint.and another of green. Think Andy is spot on with his comment

One thing i have noticed over many many months Stonecastle is that you always seem to complain or disagree with postings and pics BUT i have NEVER seen any pic posts from you MESSY. How about giving us all a Christmas Present and putting some personal pics where your mouth is
Dids :D

Never had any trouble with Nastrasol, works great. Must be doing something wrong as mentioned stonecastle.

Got to say Natrolsol is great for messy fun. I like it mixed nice and thick as in the blue goo pics of Chantelle, which are brilliant.

If you have bought some and found that it wasn't messy enough, then you must have mixed in too much water.

Thanks for the info, all. I'll point the initial enquirer in the direction of this thread. Incidentally, just for completeness, I see from another thread that the surplus ordered for the giant dunk tank means that materials to make gunge are also now available in more reasonable quantities here.
