Candy - going down for the third time

This is not to be confused with going down on Candy for the third time – that’s a different thread.

Candy had expressed a desire to sink completely in mud, despite me telling her how difficult this is. So after the last Bristol Splunch Candy, Sammi and I went to Dunnington (not the Yorkshire one) to explore a mud pit and see if we could turn her dream into a reality.

Despite her best efforts, she could not sink beyond her armpits (Archimedes’ principle, don’t you know – nothing to do with her ‘flotation aids’) so Sammi was called upon in a supporting role to do the opposite of supporting and in fact to help plunge her beneath the surface. She went under twice, but decided they weren’t deep enough, so with Sammi exerting all her might and propelling Candy down almost to the full extent of Sammi’s arms she sank for a third time, hoping to stay under for a while – but no, she popped back up again; something to do with having lungs full of air.

Both girls loved the mud there, despite being almost completely exhausted, and want me to locate suitable local accommodation so that we can spend a weekend there and really enjoy ourselves (next year, when the weather gets warmer), and if I can get them to remember the whereabouts of the camera, and not to keep masking each other I might just be tempted.

I bet Candy took some pushing down with those natural bouyancy aids she owns.

Picture 0243 reminds me of the Slits - Cut - album cover.

Superb pics and what quality looking mud.

well, having learnt from this try at it I shall certainly bear that in mind - and next time me and sammi run off, all too eager to jump in, feel free to tell us to hang on a minute and pose, lol. I did try to keep the camera in mind but sinking so quickly was rather distracting  so a bit of direction and reminders about it would be good.

Didnt help that we were miles away from you either.... next time, if we use dunnington again at least we know where the more solid areas of mud are, it would be good to maybe get set up further up that path towards the solid bit and take it all a bit more slowly....

having a weekend there and therefore less time pressure would also help. Cant believe how long it took to get there from the entrance, and then back again.

so, all that set, now all we have to rely on is the weather

love the photos - really great! looks like you both had a fantastic time although judging by the last photo, it was pretty tiring.

never one to wish my life away but roll on the good weather and much more of the same....!
