Being a dinosaur, I have never bothered with Facebook till now, but at the weekend I started getting my page there in order. Got a few drunken pics, some messy ones and stuff but would like to know what else I should do with it.
Meanwhile if anyone else out there has a Facebook account, feel free to add me to their Friends list.
And before anyone asks, no, Hayley hasn't got one yet!

Hi Bill!
I enjoyed chatting with you on Facebook! I joined the Splosh community and started this fantastic pastime late in life! I have enjoyed sessions with 'Candy', 'Barbara' and Gary aka 'Splat'! I have started several groups on there and have found new sploshers on there! The more people that get into sploshing will make the world a better place!

My feelings entirely Hayley, Although I'm very open on this forum, no way will I go on these teenykids sites!

You are misinformed. Facebook is most certainly not a 'teenykids' site. Although I am not an avid user I have over 30 friends and most of them are over 30. In fact, I am 52, so every age can use it. Please feel free to have a look for yourself.

You might be too open for these teenykid sites, Richard!

I deleted my Facebook account. I couldn't get along with all the childish games - sending hugs and vampire bites and the like. I prefer MySpace.

As far as I can see....MySpace is for earnest people who need a proper website, especially musicians, Bebo is the cool one for kids and Facebook just about anyone. I agree about the silly games and when I first joined I was inundated with silly 'offers' which I ignored and, mostly, still do. My friends (and in this case they really are, not merely cyber ones) are all ages and certainly not kids! In fact, when there's time I shall put up an album of them all getting pissed in the pub. At least one is now chatting to the sploshers who've joined! It's quite nice to combine Sploshworld and real world in one place!
PS I do wear a hoody though, but only when it's cold!

I fully agree with that too, as a bit of a facebook veteran, I think I've been on the site for 3 years now, from back when you needed to be a member of a university to be able to join. It used to be a lot simpler, the only thing you could "do" was poke people, which was enough and the increased privacy made it much better than myspace at the time.
Still times change and that, I just want an opt out of application requests button and I'll be happy again.

It seems to me that bebo is just mainly for kids, myspace is mainly for teens and a few bands promoting themselves and facebook is a bit more for everyone (if you ignore the gallizion apps that people send).
TBH I've got a similar issue to Eden in that I'd rather keep this seperate from some members of my family and some friends.
I'm impressed you are on there though Bill!

Is there a Splosh group? I might wander over there?

I too deleted my account for pretty much the same reason, plus my OH got pissed off with girls sending 'tags' on social me,like hot ,sexy, etc;etc; also found that with all the crap attachments like hearts, teddy bears, hugs, etc; it slowed my computer down lots, plus im not into that sort of stuff,'not very punk is it'!!
