TNMMC - Gone for good?

Postby slapstickfan » 07 Nov 2008, 03:57

Noticed their yahoo groups going down one by one but only just noticed the main site has been pulled and all content removed with a parting message from Terry.

see http://www.tnmmc.co.uk/

It seemed like a very good club 7 years ago but things have moved on in the splosh world and in my opinion the club didn't keep pace with the current scene. When I was in contact with them they seemed very disorganised and so didn't seem to be getting things working again properly this time round. There are very good alternatives now for organised sessons like Splosh a Girl and with models like Candy Custard so all is not lost :D

Sorry to see that...unfortunately health issues have a habit of over-riding all other plans.
I guess that it would be very difficult, and certainly very hard work, for anyone to run something like TNMMC sufficiently profitably to be their full-time business or only source of income, so we must be grateful that there are still the other producers able to continue so well.

It is always sad to see something so well intentioned go down but, as you say, not surprising.

There are two alternatives if you are running a sploshing organisation. Either you do it full time, financed when necessary with other work which you fit around it, and get used to the idea that you will never make much money but have a great time. Or you can try and fit it around a day-job which as your club grows in popularity becomes extremely stressful and an organisational nightmare.

In the early days of Splosh! we did the latter, now it's the former and though it can still be difficult to keep all the balls in the air on a relatively small budget, it is a fun way to carry on. I suspect that Terry and his cohorts made the all-too-common mistake (which we have in the past) of promising to do everything for everyone and then being unable to cope when people started asking for it. I may be wrong. Everyone should start small and find on area they can do well and cope with rather than trying to be a jack of all trades.

Sorry, you don't want my business philosophy - especially as I'm scarcely Duncan Bannatyne.

i no health issues are probably the main reason for the closure of tnmmc but i was on the model list from the re start of the site being prommised work i heard nothing for months and contacted terry for the reply theres been intrest but emails sent kept getting returned ok this could be genuine but chatting to another model on there they had the same response emails getting returned
im not having a dig at anybody and hope terry gets well i just think it was never given 100% go on the return of the site

I think that the comments made by Bill are just about spot-on.

TNMMC the first time around was inundated with requests for sessions and from the point of view of Terry became impossible to manage whilst holding down a job as well. In those days all the activities took place in a spare room at his house and in the end it just became too much for him to cope with.

More recently it became apparent fairly early on that despite good intentions the organisation was not what it should have been and Terry was promising things that he was unable to deliver.

Of late, health problems have contributed considerably to his worries. It is probably now the case that TNMMC has come to the end of the line.
