Okay, this may only be of interest to me but...
The thread goading Dids to do a private session with Splosh-a-Girl set me wondering what people's attitudes are these days to WAM producers appearing either for fun or in their own films.
My attitude has always been that beyond having to throw pies or pour gunge I should keep out of films as much as possible. Why? a) Cos I'm a fat ugly bloke and b) I think it can appear self indulgent (as in a "Hey, guys, look what I can get to do..." sort of way).* Therefore I stick to doing voice-overs for storylines and very occasionally appearing as an extra to make up numbers.
I certainly don't contrive scenes where I get messed up by the models (much as I would like to) cos I don't believe anyone would want to see this. But am I right?
Believe me, I am just as willing to get messy as you lot, I just don't want to inflict it on you or make it look like I am only doing this for my own benefit (I come from a Methodist background where I was told everything is done for the benefit of others and as soon as you find something you like you have to invent a reason for not doing it!).
Okay, probably not the most tittilating post on the forum and I am sure by this evening it will have been swamped by a million professional posts, but let me know what you think, if you can be arsed.
Bill
* This is not a criticism of those who play a more prominent role in their films, purely an explanation of why I don't.

I have never found your appearances in films intrusive, Bill. It is always a minimal time on screen and your 'acting' and impressions are genuinely funny, I think.
You don't take yourself seriously and know that the audience's main interest is in seeing women getting sploshed. Plus, you are Bill Shipton - a sploshing icon yourself, so it is quite nice to see your brief apppearances.
For you to feature more prominently getting messed up yourself? That might be cool since you genuinely enjoy it - for i know that you would always make sure the female models were the main focus of the action.

A lot of my films are mixed and its never stopped the sales. I have appeared in a few and they do move from time to time. If you want to have a go. I say do it. At least then you can tick the box and say done that. The fact that you talk about must mean you think about.
I had one goal this year, to pop on camera!!! he he he did it on Tuesday. Life's to short Bill have a go you'll enjoy it.
regards
Andy

I appreciate your comments on why you don't / haven't appeared on film but I for one would like to see a wee bit more of you.
Maybe in a 'B' movie revenge of the killer splosh models type film?

I've always rather liked the way you've made cameo appearances in Splosh films down the years - a sort of messy answer to Alfred Hitchcock.

I'd have though less of Kill Bill and more of a Spill (stuff on) Bill!

Depends! Rich often appears in his films; Neil doesn't appear in his. Not sure things are so fixed in Splosh productions.
In the days of video Splosh found some excellent females who sent themselves & the films up brilliantly, aided by Bill's scripts. I'm recalling Ophelia, Louise L'Amore & others. Great characters! Maybe this was because fewer films were made back then and distribution took place over a longer timescale - whereas now, the emphasis is on regularly up-dating site content with less time for planning.
I suppose I'd rather watch Bill than a model who can't carry a scene - but best of all would be a talented female front (in more ways than one).

Yes, I was thinking that too!muckypup wrote:I was going to mention Hitchcock too, great minds and all that.
Why not have a brief, almost imperceptible 'walk-on' part in the background whenever you can (in disguise?) and offer a small prize to the first person to work out where you are in the film. (Obviously wouldn't work too well in a 3-person studio shoot but might be ok if out in public in 'scene setting' establishing shots etc. ... and why not?! If it was good enough for Hitch, it's good enough for the King of Splosh!
Oooh - you could be the new 'Cuneo Mouse' (or Lobby Lud?!) [No, I'm not that old but I do know my obscure references ... sometimes!]

There is also the vexed question of 'male wam' here as many producers are male. Producers such as Ariel, Jessie, Slimysophie, Leah, and many other females appear in their vids & photosets as a matter of course and are appreciated by their many admirers.
I can't remember Dids appearing in person in any of his shoots; the 'goading' was on a personal level, among friends, challenging him to have a session with Kate, not as a producer but as an ordinary punter like the rest of us.
When I have a sploshing session with a young lady I like to have a pictorial record of the occasion and I am happy to share the result with my friends. Although I pay for the session I don't regard myself as a 'producer' but Miss T, the real producer, sometimes appears, vocally and/or visually and is very welcome to do so.
I don't think this has advanced the subject very much but I'm always happy to see Bill on his rare appearances in vids & shoots.
*edit* I'm also a fat ugly old bloke, (even older than Bill!)

Bottoms Up!
I agree with Bill that sometimes when producers appear in porn, it can look a bit "hey, I get to do this and you don't!" But I think, particularly with Splosh! downloads, the nature of the films are often lighthearted and funny and that Bill wouldn't come across badly at all... and we love your voiceovers! So if you want to do it.... do it. If you dont, dont.
Although next time I'm at splosh towers, if you could say 'hey baby, I'm gonna make you a star!' a la porn mogul, I would be very happy

I think if producers are constantly in a major part of the filming then its over indulgent and would put me off to be honest. A character appearance like Eden mentions would be ok and odd cameo appearances like you did in some of the buff films or the mags is ok (like Hitchcock did too lol).

'cock and Bill
Me too
I thought of you as 'Hitch'
Perhaps a series of films as a tribute to the great man?
39 Steps = 39 Pies
The Lady Vanishes - under the 39 pies
The Man Who Knew Too Much = The man who threw too much
Dial M for murder = Dial M for mud
I could go on but those men in white suits want me to take my tablets.
