problems with umd

anyone else having trouble getting on the site the last few days it seems so slow and i just cant get on the forums

I have noticed it is very slow getting onto the forums though the home pages load okay. For once we are quicker than they are!! (Pauses for the inevitable post saying how much bigger they are, yeah, yeah I know!). I suspect it is a temporary thing but, yes, it has been true for me too.

I went on umd, as usual, last night and it took me an hour and a half just to read 10 messages. It has never been slower! What is the matter with the thing?

I could get on the wet forum tonight but not the messy one. I don't think it's worth bothering with anymore.

I think maybe the engine that turns the crankydoodle has run out of steam

If I know the UMD and messmaster, its an issue with the database logs that needs cleaning out again, however messmaster is always really busy!
I'm very sure that in the next few days MM will breeze in and fix the speed issues and a few other bugs I've noticed!

I know its a little frustrating at the moment, but it won't last forever, oh naysayers!!!

Leon, I think you're spot on about the logs. Something is bogging down the sytem. I've been trying to get in touch with Messmaster for close to 3 weeks to remedy some of the major malfunctions, but I'm not having any luck. Eventually, it'll get fixed but how long that might take is anyones guess.

The "premium access" allows access to all of the archived images that have been posted on the UMD. There is a fee for this feature, but it's only if you want it. Apart from that, the rest of the UMD is free to access.
I hope this clears up any confusion

Funny thing: The pic browser seems to load okay, and what's more is that some people are able to get in to post new material, because..there it is. I assume MM's okay, though? It's rare that he's this far out of the action.
