I'm not trying to trivialise the distress of having your property flooded, especially if you are not insured, but the mind boggled when I heard:
'People's living rooms are full of thick smelly mud'
Well every cloud has a silver lining, people would pay a lot of money to come and visit you.

Poor taste, Amanda. A lot of these poor people are not insured cos it has happened before and the insurance companies won't insure them. How about a percentage of the lottery money going to an emergency fund for things like this instead of some of the hair-brained ideas it goes to at the moment.
I really do feel for them.

Force Amanda to go to one of these houses and roll around in that stinky mud wearing nothing but their undies which must be packed with the filthy muck.
