We go now to footage of the TARDIS in action shot by witnesses.

Further pictures from this story can be found here taken by a local journalist:

And in further news...

OK I'll drop the gimmick now. During the first half of this year I built a Gunge Tank, yeah I know WAY to much time on my hands and the clip above is of it in use at Lancaster University on a number of events ranging from a test run, to fundraising gungings and a Super Slime Challenge. Enjoy.

Apparantly this isn't a satisfactory Passport photo.

Lancaster University must be a splosh Centre of Excellence! Wasn't Brian Grove of Crazygirls a student there once? :D Top invention

Actually Brian was at Preston but the Gungeathon event was shot in Lancaster. Still a great city.

Thanks everyone,

Well Lancaster does have a connection with Noel Edmond's that they want to forget as they had a nice little fiasco with a Mr. Blobby theme park that went tits up in Morecambe.

As for a Splosh Centre of excellence I think the Uni is a little too orderly if you know what I mean. The Health & Safety risk assessments for the Gunge Tank alone was way more than would have been required by any other Student Union. The Gunge Tank risk assessment was 7 pages, a pie event was 13 pages and when we wanted to put food in our four tanks for a 'four course meal' we were told that we'd need to investigate all possible health hazards of every ingredient in said food including additives - we will do that event when I can be arsed to fill out the form or if we can find an off-campus venue to do it.

I've just graduated from Lancaster Uni, I witnessed a few of these gungings from my window out of Bowland Tower :) My favourite was the Women's Officer (I think?) getting pied, I watched it out of the window with my girlfriend but missed the big finale because we got rather taken by the mood

Had no idea these events were being run by a dedicated splosher though, you little devil :P

I have a strong suspicion that the food event would be turned down after the risk assessment due to possible wheat gluten, lactose or nut allergies! LOL

OK you got me, guilty as charged. I won't tell if you won't  But it ain't anywhere near as bad as my incident in Fylde bar on its reopening on Friday Fury - involves a dominatrix costume and handcuff keys.

I've just graduated from Lancaster Uni, I witnessed a few of these gungings from my window out of Bowland Tower

Bowland Tower - you unlucky bugger, I know a couple of first years in there at it looks like prison accomodation was better, were you there in the Tower for the whole three years or just the Grizedale relocation? What makes it even more unlucky is you've left as it's just getting started. Just thinking what the Union's reaction would be to setting up a Sploshing Society.

Well the Women's Officer and Women's Officer elect pieing and gunge finale has been caught on camcorder so you'll have another opportunity to see the finale. Incidently that pieing/gunging included flour, milk and custard, if you include me as the nut then that about covers shedders checklist. Though I was told by the H&S guy that ingestion was to greatest hazard - he wasn't too amused by my suggestion of duct tape.

Unfortunetly we lost the footage of the FUSION project gunging the Toast bunny.

And who's that immature idiot screwing up that last picture? - Pulls his cap further over his eyes, picks up his coat and tries to sneak towards the door before anyone figures him out.

Ah, I actually loved it, the rooms were some of the cheapest on campus and they're some of the biggest, plus the views are amazing, I was in a corner room so I could see all the way across the bay, down to blackpool and up into Cumbria. Porters never could be bothered coming up there either so we could do whatever we wanted and get away with it. Was in the old Grizedale first year, that was a bit grim but I had a great time anyway

A sploshing society would be amazing, would be an interesting meeting with the Gen Sec proposing that :P

Hi

I have fond memories of Lancaster myself. Apart from working with Brian (a mixture of good and bad memories!), the Gungeathon we did in the days pre proper gunge tanks was in aid of Derian House in Lancaster. Also, without getting too maudling, my late brother did his teacher training at St Martins College (then just down the road from you guys) and I visited him up there when he was a student and I was a budding teenage alkie! Remember seeing the towers of the Uni then - and that was in 1972!

Sad moment (if you don't want to be depressed look away now): in fact the last time I saw my brother prior to his death two weeks later was sitting by the church on top of the hill drinking lager looking out at the Lune and the trains going over the bridge just before I headed home.

Bill

PS He would have approved very much of the gunge tank, certainly taken part and made his girlfriend Chris (with whom I am still friends) have a go as well!

I didn't realise Lancaster was such a hot spot for sploshers (I've just left st. martins, now university of cumbria- or something like that! myself) it must be something in the air up here. Not sure if anyone will remember but last time I wrote on the board I hadn't discussed sploshing (at least my interest in it) with my partner. Happily, once I stopped being a wuss and told my fella, he got pretty excited and we're now planning out first sesh :D
