ive been approached by a friend to do a charity event.naturally i was thinking of gunge! however, morally do people think its wrong to get sexual kicks out of fundraising? .need peoples opinions plz!! it will make me feel better!
Personally, I'd think it morally wrong if that was the intention behind arranging a charitable event.
You could be said to be taking advantage of people enjoying fun sploshing for your own devious purpose, and you most likely would, of course, be involving children. How would you feel if you (or your kids) were involved in something innocent for charity, say a "silly hats competition", and then found out that the organiser was getting sexual kicks out of it?
I'm not been moral, but it's totally different to enjoying photos and DVDs produced for our particular interests. In that case the models are adult, know why the viewers enjoy the pics and videos, and are working voluntarily because they're being paid and/or like what they're doing.

It can be done, though you have to think about who you are using before you do it. We filmed a Disastermind for Children in need. All people taking part where over 21, all fees where waivered for the charity, so the two ladys in question gave their time for nothing. I did seek some guidence from Bill on this one, over how to make the cheque out etc.
It really depends on what you plan to do, and how you are going to raise the cash.
Once we had filmed we put Disastermind on utube for free, so that we had no come back over making money out of the day.

Andy

Now that is a good point matty, all the people have to be crystal about what they are getting involved with before the event. We did this with Pippa by showing her a few dvd's etc. Then all partys new what where happening. If your person does not want to do it, for what ever reasons then you have to respect it.

This could be an interesting debate!
I'm sure that an event with adults only, all of whom knew the sexual motives behind it, could be arranged, and I have no issues with that, of course.
What would worry me would be arranging something involving the general public who thought it was just a silly fun day for charity, while the organiser knew all the time that it was really for his sexual kicks!
That's not on, IMHO.....yes, work for charity events in other ways, and you can still get all the WAM-fun anyone could ever need from the vast variety of pics and videos which we can find to suit our fetish, or from sploshing privately with like-minded people.
But don't use "innocent" third-parties for private motives.

I remember the landlord of a pub ran a 'guess the weight of the barmaid's tits' for charity back in the 70s. Not exactly PC, but an example of how folks do all manner of kinky things in the name of charity. Think 'Its a Knockout, for instance.
I would go ahead - you are not exactly running a bonk-a-thon and as charitable kinks go, this sounds pretty tame.

charity
having been involved many times locally with charity events, i think in this credit crunch (whats wrong with calling it a recession), any one who can give their time and funds to charity is doing a fantastic job. if someone enjoys doing whatever it is they choose, in the process, fair play. its a shame that good causes have to rely on public fundraising, but they do, so crack on, make loads of cash and enjoy it.
got a dare, care to share?

I still think that this is rather different from setting up a sploshing event with the deliberate idea that you will get your sexual kicks from it.
Looking back at Matty81's original question, I think that the inference was that the organiser might get his kicks by hoping that some attractive girls would enter...and it would be very unlikely that they would be aware that this was the intention. ( Most people have no idea of any sexual connotations to slapstick).
Anything like "Guess the weight of the barmaids tits" is quite different...I'm sure that the barmaid would be well aware that guys would be getting a kick out of it, and she wouldn't have agreed to it if she wasn't OK with that.
I still don't like the idea that "innocent" members of the public might be involved in something that was set up for hidden sexual gratification.
(Headlines in The Sun....."Perv tricks girls into getting messy under guise of charity event".....?
See my point?)

Didn't "Time Team" find that joke carved on some ancient stone?

(Sorry, couldn't resist!)
Surely it is a question of how it is promoted.
Andy's was never advertised to the public as a participatory event and so was just some adults having a bit of fun and the proceeds going to charity. If on the other hand you are advertising it as a charity event first with the implication that it is all innocent fun when in fact you are deliberately creating something to wank over then it is more of a problem.
However there is an element of self interest in a lot of charitable activity. I am sure people who sit in baths of beans do so cos they want to, likewise parachute or bungee jumps. The charity is just an excuse to achieve an ambition. "Gunging" is pretty innocent and would be seen by most people as totally non-sexual. If it is presented in that way with no deliberate sexual overtones, then surely that is alright. The fact that you like it becomes irrelevant. Afterall think of all the people who dress up as schoolgirls on charity days and must get a bit of a kick out of it, even if it's only the attention.
I think what I am saying is...either create a self indulgent adult event advertised as such which happens to give some dosh to charity (like Andy) or create a totally innocent event promoted accordingly, accept that 99 per cent of the participants will be teachers, bosses and people you don't fancy and enjoy it for the one attractive person who takes part (or taking part yourself). I don't think that does any harm, so long as you are not manipulating the event to make it more of a turn-on for you. Or if you do choose the self indulgent adult path - don't then imply you are a saint for 'doing it for charity'.
Yours wafflingly
