The 2008 world custard pie championships take place on June 15 at Maidstone in Kent. Details here http://www.wcpc.me.uk/

The entrance is £40 for each team of four. How about organising one or more teams, calling ourselves 'The Sploshers'?

Many of us have been to one or more meet-ups in London & elsewhere. Why not meet up at this organised event & chuck some pies around?

that seems cool on first thought I had an image of a great race style free for all pie fight but theres rules and a limit to the number of pies! bah still would be great for a little dabble I suppose

That's true. But we could show up, take part in the event & bring our own supplies & dish out some extra helpings amongst ourselves. Even if we just did the competition pies & combined it with a pub trip we'd have the basis of a regular meet-up with a bit of action as well.

The query I have about the championships is whether they have any cleanup facilities. If the teams are all local then they might not have as far to tramp home covered in pie as we might. Suppose they must at least have a hose-down though.

Why are there two threads on this?

Can we use one or the other, please?
