OK sooooooo... my video is done. Excellent wamming fun with me, tranny teresa, custard, pies, angel delight etc footage safely captured,  but now I am a wamsel in distress once more as I need to edit it, get rid of a couple of crappy bits and edit the music in for one version, and save a non audio version too.

I am attempting to use windows movie maker for this - have adobe pro too but it crashed when I tried to load the vid to it so sticking with windows I think

I am finding I really dont have the first clue what to do. Sitting and looking at it blankly isnt acheiving anything.... I am reading help files and tutorials etc and its just not sinking in at all   If anyone can help wether by talking me through it or coming round and actually showing me I, and im sure the general splosh audience out there would be most grateful

thanks in advance!

CC xxxxxxxxxxx

oh, and heres some still from it. ive worked out how to do that at least!

Would love to come round and offer my services (and whilst there I could help with your movie-making too...), but you're not exactly round the corner from me.

I've played wth video for a few years, so I guess Windows Movie Maker is pretty much like all the others, and works off a timeline, which represents the total video under edit. You can drop clips onto this timeline, and sounds too I imagine, typically scaling them in length or detail, to produce a full timeline playing as you want it to - oh, and you'll be able to add some sort of fancy scene transitions, no doubt.

Imagine the scrolling timeline display as your entire video, composed from individual pieces that you can shape as you see fit, and then add a soundtrack in a similar manner. It's not as difficult as it seems, but its sometimes eaasy to get bogged down in the technicalities.

Sorry, I somehow know you were actually making sense there but somehow my brain is refusing to co operate and translates what looks like perfectly coherent and patiently explained english into ....I dunno. advanced klingon or something. I really need someone to actually show me whats what I think before I will fully 'get it'

*sigh*

:(

looking good in those screenshots CC!

personally I'd stick with Adobe Premiere Pro - its MUCH better than movie maker. I use Premiere Pro at work and at home to edit mini DV and DVCAM footage to DVD or for the web. I find most Microsoft packages have a tendency to suck all the creativity out of you before you even begin....

Ok, both movie maker and Premiere take a bit of getting used to but if you're going to learn one it might as well be the better one....

I realise this post doesn't really help you much.... sorry....

what do you mean when you say have adobe pro too but it crashed when I tried to load the vid ?

exactly that! I tried to import/upload my vid to it, and it just locked up and stopped responding. had to close it down and restart comp

tried it on wmm and it was fine!

After much (and I do mean much) careful analysis of the problem, I only have one question: Is that a run in your hose in the last pic? :P
