Geri Halliwell
Being a young turk as I am, I may have missed the boat somewhat here. But, while engaged in the heinous crime of browsing another forum, I read that Geri Halliwell applied to be sploshed before she was famous. Anyone know what happened?

I think Bill still dines out on this one... apparantly tis true. And she was chesty back then, after going up and down like a swanny whistle on the old scales pre and post Spice

Hi
It is a famous old story now but completely true.
I was having a clear out of the office a couple of years back and discovered a batch of applications from an ad we put in The Stage newspaper in 1994. Amongst them to my chagrin was an application from one Geri Halliwell! She had just finished touring as a dancer and looking for work (three months later The Stage published the ad for members of a girl band which she also applied for - and got!). She sent us her CV, photo card and a handwritten letter saying she offered 'enthusiasm' and a 'creative outlook'. I think it was the latter that scared me.
Of course I regret we didn't at least audition her, but I suppose I do have her autograoh. And it shows she was up for doing messy stuff, so she's out favourite Spice by far.
The full story is in the magazine.

I would have loved to see Geri get the full treatment in the Union Jack dress!!!!
As an alternative you could form your own Spice Girls tribute act the Splosh Girls with DD (Baby), Gilly (Posh), Sammy Jane (Sporty), CC (Posh) and you yourself Bill as Scary.
After all you couldn't sing any worse than the origionals could you!!!!!!

Two Poshes? One is bad enough.
And me as Scary - since the demise of the comedy nose and big specs my similarity to Avid Merrion has decreased slightly. And much as I like Eddie Murphy....
Proper Bo fun to do tho.
