OT: Earthquake!

Did the earth move for anyone else? 8)

We'd sort of planned a shoot tonight, but ended up not doing it. So Nurse Wendy and I were up in the computer room at the top of the west wing when all of a sudden everything started shaking and all the lights began to swing. It's quite scary to be inside a house which is rocking about!

It all subsided after a bit, there doesn't appear to be any damage done, though we'll have to check the Hall thoroughly in daylight to be completely sure.

I gather the epicentre was near Market Raisen in Lincolnshire, but the quake was felt all over large bits of England.

Anyone else notice it at the time?

yep, it woke me up, it scared me shitless!!! - reports now coming though it was 5.3 not 4.7 as previously thought, as it was very close to the surface.... apparently

I knew it was stronger than the dudley one... I giggled during the dudley one but this was soooooo scary, I thought a bomb had gone off!!!

Felt it here in Cambridge, the room shook and there was a bit of a bang - I just thought it was weird at the time and didn't realise it was an earthquake until I read it on the news.

Nothing down here! Takes a lot to make the earth move in St Leonards (CC and DD aside).

Felt it over here in East Lancs, didn't twig exactly what it was until I saw the news. Been to California felt much worse there without anyone batting an eyelid, simply a case of putting back things on shelves, putting the odd lamp post back up etc guess its more of a novelty over here. Just seen someone on telly saying "something serious was happening" yeah right! Why not try visiting Palm Springs

I slept soundly though it, scared the missus tho, she thought something had hit the house as there was a bit of a bang before the rumbles.

I hope you never drink and drive - you may hit a bump and spill some.

I slept right the way through it. I never felt a thing. But then down here in London the tremours would have been very slight compared to near the epicentre in Yorkshire.
