Apparently, the tabloids at the time had a field-day hinting at foul play being involved, but, although she had earlier been drinking and arguing with her husband, it seems that it was just a tragic accident.

Out of curiosity, was there any significant sploshing in Armageddeon or Deep Impact, which re-hashed a similar plot? Never did get to see either, really should track them down on DVD, as I like "doomsday" movies, regardless of gunge content.

She got out to push when the car got stuck on the rain and mud.
I think it was a 'Matt Helm' film.
After she was covered in mud she got back into the car and took her stockings off.
