was browsing the Splosh! forum tonight and thought it might be interesting (to a degree) to hear where people read it. I have a wireless network and a laptop so I can go online pretty much wherever.
so here's a pic of my laptop taken on the kitchen table (I like to escape the TV whenever possible)
you'll notice a nice big glass of wine next to the laptop

and some freshly washed socks lurking in the background that I need to sort....
so where do YOU read the forum?

I don't have a laptop so I sit in an office type swivel chair with the monitor on the desk and the keyboard on a pull-out shelf. The central heating system and airing cupboard is behind me and the wall behind the monitor is covered with postcards from all over the world. The room is small, about 9' x 9', originally the 3rd bedroom/boxroom and on either side of the desk are multi drawer mahogany merchant's chest type cupboards that I salvaged from one of the antique pharmacies where I worked when it was getting re-fitted with modern fittings (yuk!).
Oh. and there is usually a glass of red wine or a mug of coffee on the desk as well!

nothing so special for me I am afraid, the front room in the flat also doubles as the office.

Wow, detailed! Boring I know but I look at it in my study on a desktop pc. Hoping to get an iPod touch soon so see if that works too
No one read it any where more interesting? Up a mountain, in a pig pen, in the bath or anything?

Anyone read it maybe where they shouldnt?

Here at the Hall we have a small computer office built in a former priest's hole at the top of the west wing. There's no window, but the room it opens off of has a magnificent view across the moors. There's also a secret stair hidden in the wall which winds all the way down to the wine cellar (and thence the dungeon).
The space is only 6' wide and about the same deep, the handywoman put up a set of B&Q Heavy Duty pine shelves either side, then screwed in cross-bars between them with planks on top to form the desk. The blue lighting you can see in the pic is a set of Xmas LED lights, which give a nice glow. And yes, that's this forum on screen!

I browse this forum where ever I can as I don't have computer. I browse it in the library, in the Apple store on Regent Street which has free internet access and a couple of other places with free net access.

Thanks I_like_pie . . . . . . it's an enduring image you have presented us with there !
As for me, I tread the forum at home in what would be the dining room. I don't house-share so I only have myself to worry about ! Jolly nice, I'd say.
I don't need to go anywhere else to view unless at a fellow sploshers' house !
